January's meeting of Tenby Ladies Circle was held at the home of Karen Tulley. Chairman Julia gave a warm welcome to president Ruth, honorary members Av and Debs, prospective member Lesley and brand new member Sian.
Averil reported on the Flame of Friendship at Linzi's. It was last minute when she decided to go to the dinner and drinks at Linzi's first. There were too many stairs when you are on crutches and the fastest flame yet. Thank you one and all. The flame was passed to Averil.
Sian reported on the Christmas dinner at The Reef. Crackers, hats, fab food and drinks every 10 minutes. A raffle and a game of pass the parcel with some good forfeits. She was inducted into Circle, given a badge and said a few words.
Carol singing was reported on by Claire. Having met at Julia's - where perhaps they should have practised - it was on to Belvedere and then Belmont Nursing Homes where they entertained residents with their 'singing'! They did manage to raise a few smiles, though.
The Boxing Day Swim was reported on by president Ruth, when she herself, Julia, Brenda, Edna, Karen and Jayne were the unsung heroines of the Salvation Army. Hats on, plenty of lipstick and their tambourines, they arrived at the beach laughing, singing and blessing souls.
After getting cold and wet, it was bin bags on and back to the fire station for a shower and sloe gin; then out for refreshments.
Jayne reported on the Spa Day at Celtic Haven. It was a wet and blustery day when she, DD and Sian met for lunch and then into the spa for scrubs, mini-facial, back massage and relaxation. The day came to an end too early - oh well, back to the ironing. Thanks to Debs and Sian and Rob for the treat.
Forthcoming dates: Area 46 and 43 Ball - January 27 at Stradey Park; Charity Golf Day and Casino Day - March 23; Cellar Bistro Greek Night - March 9. The next meeting will be held at the home of Julia on Wednesday, February 7, at 8 pm.
