Pictured are the children of Tenby Junior School with their decorated shoeboxes filled with Christmas goodies for the organisation Samarian's Purse known as 'Operation Christmas Child.' The boxes will be delivered shortly to countries such as Liberia and Romania to children who would otherwise not be having a gift to celebrate Christmas. Tenby Junior School children were very moved by the Operation Christmas Child assembly, were told of the work done by the organisation and what was needed to put into their shoebox to make an underprivileged child's Christmas very happy. Over 114 filled boxes were collected by Miss Jean Peen, seen with the children, to be despatched.

Children in Need

Children of Tenby Junior School participated in the great 'Pudsey Bear bake-off' where all children were encouraged to bring in homemade cakes or cakes of any description to sell and then be able to buy some yummy cakes with their pound donations.

The response was tremendous, with cakes filling Mrs. Dowell's classroom before the great bake-off sale at break-time.

Mr. Llewellyn, of Year 3, and deputy Mr. Lewis, along with Mrs. Stewart-Walvin and Mrs. Dowell, assisted in the cake-selling, along with Year 3 pupils.

A fantastic sum of £210 was collected that day for Children in Need as Ms. and Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Payne sold off the last of the cakes at home time.
