Football and rugby teams celebrate success

Congratulations to Tenby Junior School boys and girls football teams who came second in the recent Urdd Pembrokeshire finals.

The school's rugby side have also enjoyed a successful season, having played in the Dyfed Finals earlier in the season when they beat Ysgol Nantgaredig, but lost to Kidwelly and Pontyberem.

The team also made it to the semi-finals in the recent Pembrokeshire tournament where they eventually lost to Tavernspite.

Meanwhile, congratulations to Adam Davidson who has represented the county in rugby this year, ending with a tour of Barcelona.

New bike shed

Tenby Junior School's JRSOs (Junior Road Safety Officers) were delighted to unveil a new bike shed at the school recently, financed using a grant from the Safer Routes to School scheme.

The school's JRSOs have been busy promoting walking, cycling or scooting to school, by holding assemblies on 'Be safe, be seen'.

At the moment, the pupils are currently walking, cycling and scooting in an 'around the world' exercise by adding the distances the children are travelling into school and recording them on a large map of the world.

The junior school will also be one of a number of schools taking part in the annual 'Tour De Tenby' event around the town held on Friday, July 10, to promote a healthy way of getting to school.
