Pupils from Tenby Junior School went green yesterday (Thursday) as they raised a flag marking the beginning of their Green Schools Revolution.

The 'green pioneers' are pledging their support to save the planet now the school has registered for The Co-operative's Green Schools Revolution programme, a new green initiative, which will see practical environmental studies brought to life inside and outside of the classroom.

Mike Ash-Edwards, regional secretary for The Co-operative Wales said: "There is clearly a huge appetite for learning about eco-issues among children and our Green Schools Revolution programme is designed to satisfy that. It is packed with free school trip ideas, lots of lesson plans, and green activity ideas to do at home too.

"We want to ensure the next generation are better equipped for the challenge of building a more sustainable world, but what's more, we want them to take the message home to their parents and communities, to grow the Green Schools Revolution even further"

The Co-operative's Green Schools Revolution is a new sustainability education programme available free to all schools in the UK. The programme brings together a host of learning materials and practical opportunities, such as free green school trips, to help teachers, parents and children take care of the environment in a fun and active way.
