TENBY UNDER 12s v PEMBROKE DOCK

The Andrew Price sponsored Tenby Under 12s reds squad played Pembroke Dock last Friday night, in what proved to be an entertaining game, with great skill and commitment shown by both sides.

Tenby made a few changes from the side that beat Milford the previous week, starting with two of their six county boys, just to give the side a balance, with William Swales playing in the forwards and Harri Williams playing out of position in the centre.

Tenby's game plan, as always, was to get the ball wide, which they did with great effect, although Pembroke Dock have some usefull players and at times disrupted their opponents' rhythm.

For most of the match, Tenby played an all-round game, with the forwards providing a great platform for the backs to entertain.

Iori Hicks, playing his first game of season, played well, with Thomas H. Jones growing in confidence at outside-half.

Tenby ran in nine tries through the game, with the backs scoring eight of them.

Lorcan Williams also played a great first game of the season and ran in three tries from the right wing while showing great strength and speed.

Special mention goes to Connor Lewis, who played his first ever game of rugby; he did exceptionally well and hopefully will continue to grow in confidence.

This was a great experience for the boys, who were playing on a full-size pitch for the first time.

Thanks go to the referee who kept game going and played his part in a great game; also thanks to Pembroke Dock for their superb hospitality.

Finally, best wishes for a speedy recovery go to John Williams, who broke his collar bone during the match John was having a great game and unfortunately got injured late on.

Tenby U12s v WHITLAND

Andrew Price's Under 12s entertained Whitland last Sunday.

Tenby made 10 changes from the side that beat Pembroke Dock on the Friday night.

Tenby played an expansive game and got the ball wide at every opportunity.

Tenby's backs combined really well, with Harrison Duckett catching the eye at scrum-half this season with some telling runs and his link-up between the forwards and backs.

Tenby's scrum was rock solid and gave them a great platform from which to attack.

Tenby's back row caught the eye, with all three, Billy, William and Owain, playing for the county last season, with Gus, Ben and Gethin all performing well in the second row and all mobile getting round the pitch.

Dom, Stephen, Thomas and Morgan gave the opposition a torrid time in the front row, with Morgan calling the drive and pushing the opposition off their own ball.

Harri, Max, Ben, Harvey, Henry, Lorcan, Iori, all inter-linked through the game.

Tenby, at times running the ball behind, created many opportunities from which they scored tries.

Whitland, to their credit, played their part in the game, with Edward from Whitland doing a great job refereeing and making sure the game flowed without any fuss.

Whitland deserved a try at the end of the game, but Tenby's stubborn defence held firm and made sure they kept a clean sheet for the the third time this season.

Tenby scored 10 tries, with Harri converting seven of them. Final score 50-nil.

This Sunday, Tenby travel to Llanelli to play New Dock Stars, who are a great side, having lost only once last season, so it should be great game for the boys. Training is every Tuesday at The Clicketts from 6 pm. New players most welcome.
