MEMORABLE DAY OUT FOR U10s and 11s

Tenby United organised a special trip for the Under 10s and 11s to the Scarlets on Saturday for the Magners League match against Leinster at the newly-built stadium, which was only officially opened on January 31.

Thanks must go to Jim and Sally Kinnear and to Louise Waters for the great organisation; the day ran very smoothly.

The atmosphere was excellent in the stadium and the boys had their photograph taken with Simon Maling (second row) and then they paraded on to the pitch wearing the Tenby kit, with Aled and Louise Waters following the band with all the other Under 10/11 teams.

Tenby were chosen from all the teams to line the dugout holding flags as the Scarlets and Leinster teams emerged. The TV cameras were there and yes the boys did make the big time with several phone calls from home to tell the spectators.

The Under 10s/11s now had to get ready to run out on to the pitch at half-time to play. Tenby fielded a full team and away they went, with Aled (acting coach) and Louise and Katie supporting the boys from the sideline. An excellent sporting game which ended 1-0 to Tenby Under 10s - well done boys.

After watching the second half of the match, everyone agreed it had been a great day out and the boys were a credit to Tenby. A special thank you to Aled  (acting coach) and Louise for their help and support and to the parents for their continued support; not forgetting the new TV star, Laurie Murphy.

A very special thank you to the Scarlets for giving these young players a wonderful experience.
