Last Sunday, the Folly Farmers played Furnace away. The young Swifts won the toss and played up the slope and immediately passed their way through the opposition. The forwards excelled in the contact area and were always trying to keep the ball alive.

William Swales led by example, ripping the ball away numerous times, then simply laying the ball back for forwards Ben Millward, Henry McBeth, Jamie Ebsworth and Ben James to run against their opponents. This sucked in the opposition.

Harvey Bowles was first at the breakdown to secure the ball, which gave Iori Hicks a platform to show off his passing skills at the base of the ruck. Harri Williams controlled play behind, either by running or putting the quick backs, Dom Booth and Thomas Harding Jones, into space. All the backs are now starting to link up well and support each other and all of late seem to have too much pace for the opposition.

The forwards are starting to get to grips with tackling and how the ball is recycled correctly at the contact area.

This was the best team performance of the season from the boys and full credit to Furnace for not giving up. Furnace were no mugs and have lost only three out of their last eight games.

Try scorers: Thomas H. Jones 4, Harri Williams 4, Dom Booth 2, William Swales, Iori Hicks and Ben Millward.

Tenby U9s B Team

Tenby met Cardigan at The Clicketts on Sunday in what turned out to be a good game of rugby.

Tenby made a good early start as they swiftly took control of the match and began to break through the Cardigan defence.

Morgan used his strength to constantly cause the away team problems, while Harvey and Billy were always looking to counter and Jack used his speed to break away.

With this in mind, there was not the usual team spark, but they moved ahead to secure another win, with Alex getting 'man of the match' for a brilliant textbook play, resulting in Harvey getting a well deserved try.

The final score was 10-3, with scorers being Jack (3), Morgan (3), Harvey (2) and Dylan (2).

Well done to Cardigan for a solid effort and three outstanding tries that left the match wide open.

TENBY U10s 12 tries CARDIGAN U10s 2

Last Sunday saw Tenby United Under 10s record their sixth win out of seven games so for this season, as they enjoyed an emphatic victory over Cardigan.

Tenby started the game with a great tempo, putting Cardigan under great pressure from the off. First half tries were scored by Ryan Conbeer 3, Danny Wainwright 2, Toby Poole and Jack Tucker, to leave a half-time score of 7-1.

In the second half, Tenby again dominated, with further tries being scored by Ryan 3, Danny and Toby.

Tenby's tries were scored by a mixture of good team play and individual skill, with the boys finally realising it's not about who scores, but the team winning. Well done boys.

Team: Jack Tucker, Toby Poole, Jack Broadhurst, Alex Thomas, Tao Davies, Ben Palin, Danny Wainwright, Jack Waters, Milo Stone, Ryan Conbeer and Callum.

Congratulations to Danny Wainwright and Ryan Conbeer, of the Under 10s, and Adam Davison, of the Under 11s, on receiving their Pembrokeshire Schools Under 11s caps last week.
