Tenby Swifts under 8s
The Folly Farmers had a superb run out over the weekend playing Rhymney in two games at Under 8s level. The boys are unbeaten since September and are very confident with ball in hand. They showed this last Sunday when the Sharks won the first game, six tries to two, with Max Brindley leading the charge with four well-taken tries and using his pace superbly. The other try scorers were Dominic Booth and Harri Williams, who were both on hand to receive the scoring pass after good interplay with the team. Billy Kinnaer and Jamie Ebsworth both had strong games while always looking to pass and defending as if their lives depended on it. The second game was won seven tries to nil, with William Swales and Thomas Harding Jones causing damage with their mazey runs. Henry McBeth and Harrison Ducket had fine games and both ended up on the scoresheet. Dylan Scotcher created two tries with his jinking runs which enabled Harri and Dominic to score. Iori Hicks played his part with all the quickly taken re-starts which enabled the team to get on the front foot. The final try was scored by Max Brindley after Harri Williams ran almost the length of the field after receiving a pass from Jamie Ebsworth. The boys are really giving the coaches a headache for selection for the final on May 4 at Narberth. The coaches also need to know numbers by the weekend for the end of season trip when the boys are playing at half-time at Stradey Park. The coaches would also like to thank their sponsors, Folly Farm, Big Brums, John Brace Roofing, Nixon Builders and Tenby Glass, who not only have sponsored the team this season, but have also agreed to carry on sponsoring the team for the following season, along with Saundersfoot Festivities, who will help with the purchasing of two brand new kits and t-shirts for before and after the games. Also required are junior pads and armour suits which are needed for training nights. Tenby Glass covers the cost of training facilities at the astro-turf for the season.
