Playing in their first game since Christmas, Tenby Ladies hockey team were faced with Milford at Pembroke. Tenby soon settled into the game and dominated the play, putting pressure on the Milford defence.

A penalty stroke was awarded after a deliberate foul in the goalmouth by a Milford player. This was converted by Mandy Lewis to put Tenby in the lead and gave the team confidence to continue putting on the pressure.

Good passing in the midfield followed by a cross by Lucy allowed Kate to score Tenby's second goal, which was soon followed by another penalty corner in favour of Tenby.

An excellent push-out by Mandy followed by a good stop and pass by Barney (aka Yvonne), allowed Kate to take a cracking shot at goal and score Tenby's third to take them into a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time.

Milford came back determinedly in the second half, but strong goalkeeping by Michelle and excellent defending by Miriam, Jean and Sarah prevented them from scoring, despite having been awarded a couple of penalty corners.

Tenby soon rediscovered their previous attacking form and an excellent run by Ali on the right wing followed by a superb cross into the circle was picked up well and converted by Kate to gain her hat-trick for the day.

Consistently strong defending and good passing in midfield -particularly by Jude Roberts -saw Tenby relentlessly building up the attack and they were again awarded a penalty corner. Although not converted immediately, Tenby's persistence paid off, with Mandy soon netting the ball. This was followed shortly by another penalty corner being skilfully stopped, controlled and struck into the back of the net by Barney.

Milford were persistent in their attempts to score, but the Tenby defence could not be breached and the final goal came from yet another penalty corner, this time by Mandy to complete her hat-trick.

The final score was Tenby 7, Milford 0.
