Ken Daniels, the well respected local collector of postcards and photographs, enthralled members of the Tenby Historical Society at its last meeting, illustrating an absorbing talk with even more absorbing images. He spoke of the early photographs of Pembrokeshire and of how they used postcards as a means of generating extra revenue. The enlarged images from the postcards which Ken Daniels passed round showed not only the historic fabric of Pembrokeshire, but also gave insights into its social history. The next speaker will be Richard Suggett, of The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales, who will talk on 'John Nash in West Wales: Charlatan or Genius?' The Prince Regent's favourite architect and designer of the Brighton Pavilion and of London's Regent Street developed his architectural practice in West Wales. Richard Sugget has reached and published on this period of John Nash's life and will share his insights into the famous architect who was controversial in both his life and his work. The meeting will take place at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery at 7.30 pm on Tuesday, November 6. Visitors are welcome.
