The Tenby bedroom used to shoot a love scene from the hit Dylan Thomas film 'The Edge of Love' will become a cinema for the day as part of a pop-up film festival.

Fans are being offered the chance to watch the film inside Lexden House, one of the town's most iconic homes. Several interior scenes were shot inside the Georgian-style house in 2007.

"I was approached by the group Films4Tenby a few months ago," said Lexden House's owner Marion Hutton. "They said they wanted to put on films in quirky venues and asked if I'd consider letting them use my upstairs bedroom. That's where a love scene with Keira Knightly was filmed. The film crew built a window-seat especially for the film and it's still there. A few people will get the chance to sit on it while they watch."

The event forms part of a series of special screenings around Tenby called 'Rooms With a View' to be held between March 15 and 17. Other films chosen to fit their unusual venues include 'Shakespeare in Love', showing at the National Trust Tudor Merchant's House, and John Carpenter's spooky 1980s horror 'The Fog', inside one of Tenby's old Lifeboat houses on Castle Beach.

"We have films to suit all ages in five different venues around town," said one of the Films4Tenby organisers, Kath Osborne."The locations are all interesting spaces and places which visitors and locals may not have seen or thought about before."

The pilot film project was spurred on by the closure of the town's cinema, the historic Royal Playhouse, in January 2011. The nearest cinemas now are at Haverfordwest and Carmarthen, 20 and 25 miles away.

Films4Tenby have managed to secure funding for the event from the Port of Milford Haven and Tenby Town Council.

Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett, said: "We warmly welcome such an imaginative and innovative event, and hope it will quickly become a permanent fixture in Tenby's calendar of events and festivals."

Films4Tenby would like to express their gratitude towards all of the venues involved, and to their sponsors.
