2013 will be the 90th anniversary of Guiding in Tenby and celebration plans are already underway at 3rd Tenby Brownies and 4th Tenby Guides.

To raise funds for the forthcoming celebrations, the Guides will be selling florette tulips which, with their red and yellow stripes, have the same colour as the Tenby Brownies and Guides neckerchiefs.

It is hoped that these bulbs will be planted in local gardens, flowering in spring 2013, which will coincide with the anniversary and the start of the celebrations.

The bulbs will be on sale in Upper Frog Street, in the shop below Janina Louise hair salon, opposite the Coach and Horses, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 15, 16 and 17, from 10 am to 3.30 pm.

The Brownies and Guides have been busy preparing gift wrapping for the bulbs. There will also be a range of books, toys and bric-a-brac on sale.

If you were a 3rd Tenby Brownie (Wednesday) or a 4th Tenby Guide (Tuesday) and have any photos, memorabilia or old uniforms that you are prepared to loan to us, would you please bring them along to the shop, as there is going to be a display at Tenby Museum regarding the 90 years of Guiding in Tenby during 2013.

If you would like to know more about the forthcoming celebrations, please contact Barbara Pegg, Guide Guider, at 4th Tenby Guides, on (01834) 844862, or Margaret Peake, Brownie Guider, at 3rd Tenby Brownies, on (01834) 843507.
