Golfers from Tenby Golf Club have won places at the grand final of the prestigious Magners Welsh Handicap Team Championship following the regional final played at Ashburnham last weekend. The winners, Stephen Poole, John Gottwattz, Mervyn Tucker and Christopher Davies (pictured), go through to the grand final for a chance to be crowned winners of the Magners Welsh Handicap Team Championship 2007, which will take place at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, on August 12. The Magners Welsh Handicap Team Championship is one of the most prestigious events in the amateur Welsh golfing calendar, involving all 158 Golf Union of Wales affiliated golf clubs. Each participating club held a qualifying round, from which a winning team of four went through to one of the eight regional qualifying rounds currently taking place across Wales. Three of the Tenby team will also compete in the Welsh Senior Open Pro Am at Conway Golf Club next Wednesday, June 13.
