Everyone was delighted to play the Llewellyn Thomas Salver Mixed Foursomes with sun on their backs, although the rough was quite lush, after the recent rainy season and there were complaints in the clubhouse that a number of balls were lost. Chris and Carol Beecher avoided the trouble and managed an excellent 37 points to get their names on the trophy which was first presented in 1966. Gillian Roberts and Alan Morton were second on 34 points and Anita Davies and Jim Taylor were a creditable third with 31 points. Twelve pairs played. The skill of Ann and Fred Wilks earned them a 'two' and the two's sweep.
