News broke last weekend about the Ryder Cup coming to Wales and the commentators said 'let's hope this will promote junior golf'. With 45 young budding golfers on Saturday morning - I'd say Tenby Golf club are doing a good enough job on their own!
There was a very brief warm up, but with so many it was easier to get into our groups and get going.
James Lloyd and Joanna Rowe joined us for the first time and proved to have great potential! Special mention to Oliver Parsons who turned up for his second session, did a few twirls and was hitting the ball well!
Sophie John, Lauren Keating, Leo Davies, Hannah Davies, Iwan Osborne and Shelby Rossiter also played some excellent shots in the long game practice session.
Glen Conbeer, Sam Turton, Jack Merrony, Toby Rossiter, Georgia Thomas, Ollie Worley, Joe Worley and Bronwen Thomas were all great performers in the chipping areas, their skill had them scoring well.
Sam Turton had a hole in one from the side with an excellent shot!
On the putting green Jack Guerreriro, Anne-Marie Dassen, Glen Conbeer, Emma Guerreriro, Claudette Pouton, Jessica Wellum and Adam North proved that their putting style was just right! They sunk some wonderful putts!
Tomorrow golf is 9 to 10.30 am but from next week you will be split into groups and you will need to collect your rota from Julia on Saturday.
Oliver Duckett and Richard Morton battled it on the golf course last Sunday morning in the final of the Scratch Cup. The conditions were horrendous and any sensible person would have stayed in bed keeping warm.
Fair play to the two boys they played some extremely good golf in very poor conditions. Oliver's putting was out of this world, when ever he hit the ball on the green, it went in the hole, unfortunately, this didn't happen for Richard.
Clive said the boys were a credit to the juniors and he was thoroughly impressed with the standard of golf, particularly in such awful conditions.
A big thank you to Clive Deeley for referring, Julia is certainly grateful as she could stay in the dry and organise the next term's junior golf!
