To celebrate winning the Dyfed league Shield for the first time since 1986, members of the club who contributed to this success were invited to a buffet reception at the Golf Club recently.

Considered by many to be a true test of a club's playing strength and involving home and away fixtures against five other top clubs throughout Dyfed, the team, under the captaincy of Loz Phillips, stuck determinedly to its task, and after an excellent away win at Carmarthen early in the campaign expectations were high.

A final home match victory against Aberystwyth, reversing the previous week's defeat away to same club, meant that the title belonged to Tenby barring a big last-minute upset. The taste of winning was sweet when Tenby was subsequently confirmed as league champions.

Performances throughout the summer have generated tremendous team spirit and produced great competition for places and this is likely to become even greater next year as the club and the team aim to keep the trophy in the display cabinet at Tenby for a few years yet.

Our picture shows most of the players who took part during the year proudly displaying the trophy supported by previous and present year club captains.
