The girls section of Tenby Golf Club had an excellent day at the Wee Wonders regional qualifier at Garnant Park Golf Club last Wednesday.

With each competitor having just 36 shots to see how far they could progress over a par-three course, the American style bunkers could have a big implication on the finishing positions.

In the girls 5-6 years category, Amber Thomas qualified by managing to tee off on the sixth hole, some achievement considering she's only been playing since January. In the girls 7-8 years category, Megan Guerreiro followed the golfing traditions of her older brother and sister and managed to hole out on the fifth hole - rough problems along the way! In the girls 11-12 years category, Georgia Thomas managed to hole out on the ninth green, despite finding the water on her round.

All three girls now get a chance to compete in the Welsh Final to be played at Celtic Manor in the summer, and with the winner having a trip to St. Andrews, who knows!
