ON Wednesday, June 29 Tenby Friendship Club members went on a Taf Valley coach day trip to Aberglasney Manor and Gardens.

Everyone took raincoats; therefore, the weather stayed beautiful all day! Members spread out around the garden visiting the Aviaries, the walled garden, the original diaper-patterned cobbled path, walked along the Elizabethan parapet walk that overlooks the Elizabethan cloister garden. Some went as far as the old piggeries and cow sheds. The ninfarium, with its hot house plants was visited, and some enjoyed the film about the history of the Manor. Everybody enjoyed the tearooms which over looked the pool garden where most sat under shelter on the Terrace.

The club say thank you to the staff of Aberglasney and also to their coach driver. For most members, this was their first day trip after the two years of Covid. The next and last meeting of the term is on Wednesday, July 11, at 2pm in the Augustus Place hall, Tenby. Speaker will be member Linda with the second half of her talk about Ukraine. During the summer holidays the club does not meet, so the new term will commence on September 7 at 2pm in the Augustus Place hall: a date for your diary!
