PEMBROKE UTD U14s 0 TENBY U14s 7

The Willow Carpentry sponsored Tenby Under 14s produced their best performance of the season to defeat a strong Pembroke United side in their own back yard. The opening exchanges were fairly even until the 10th minute, when Will Thomas headed home from a Jordan Richards corner. Thomas came close to adding to his team's score, but just saw his effort go wide and Phil Horsley and Alex Heesom had similar chances. However, it was Richards who scored next when he cleverly juggled the ball with his foot and head before firing pastthe home 'keeper. Pembroke had a great chance to pull a goal back, but Declan Carroll's shot was superbly saved by Tenby 'keeper, Jake Roberts. Tenby increased their lead when Alex Heesom's cross eluded the United 'keeper and Ashley Smith was on hand at the far post to tap in. It was equally important for both teams to grab the first goal of the second half. The goal, eventually, fell to the visitors and in particular Thomas, who was earning the nickname Crouch, when he beat the offside trap and placed his shot wide of the 'keeper. United tried in vain to reduce the deficit, but the Seasiders' defence of Greg Lees-Griffiths, Patrick Elliott, Dan Edwards, 'keeper Roberts and captain, Curtis Hurlow were a formidable unit. Tenby brought on fresh legs in the shape of Johnnie Delahunty, making his debut for the red and blacks, and Aaron Roberts. It was the latter's first touch of the ball which provided Thomas with his hat-trick, when Roberts's cross was miss-hit by Thomas at first, but he was quick to react, to slot the ball home. Greg Lees-Griffiths ventured up for a corner and headed in via a post, and Thomas almost bagged another, but his shot went sailing over the bar. Pembroke never gave up and Carroll brought another good save out of Roberts in the Tenby goal. But it wasn't going to be their day and Roberts's long clearance was helped on by Elliott for Gareth Warlow to race on to and round the 'keeper for number seven. Oliver Worley replaced Warlow and was straight into the action, providing a pass to Smith, whose shot hit the post and rebounded safely into the United 'keeper's hands. This was a brilliant team effort from Tenby and a performance which they must reproduce, week in week out, for the remainder of the season. Tenby side: J. Roberts, G. Lees-Griffiths, P. Elliott, C. Hurlow, D. Edwards, A. Heesom, P. Horsley, J. Richards, A. Smith, W. Thomas, G. Warlow, A. Roberts, J. Delahunty, O. Worley.

TENBY U12s 3 CAREW U12s 0 The Manorbier Stores and Post Office sponsored Under 12s welcomed Carew to the Clicketts. After two close encounters last season, there was every indication that this would be a close and exciting game. Carew started off as if they meant business, dominating play and putting the Tenby defence under increasing pressure. Against the run of play, however, Elliot and Hugo found themselves in the Carew goalmouth and a brief scramble resulted in Hugo finding the back of the net to open the scoring. Carew continued to push forward, dominating play in midfield, but again Tenby broke clear and this time it was Sam who slotted the ball home. A 2-0 lead at half-time, but with Carew having had the lion's share of possession. The second half proved to be a more balanced affair. The Tenby defence and midfield battled well, while Carew continued to pressurise the home goal. Adam continued his great performance of last week and prevented several opportunities from coming to fruition. Late on, Jack put a ball through to Daniel, who capitalised on some fancy footwork by scoring Tenby's third and putting the game beyond Carew's reach. Rhys had a great game at left-back, with Corey proving a similar force on the right. Adam's confidence continues to grow and Nathan showed good determination and ball-winning skills. An important result for Tenby and a game played in friendly spirits. Some commented that Carew possibly played the better football, but on the day Tenby proved they have the commitment to dig deep and, most importantly, found the back of the net when it mattered. Thanks to Simon and his touchline crew, to the sponsors and supporters and to Carew for a competitive and fair game. Squad: Adam Conbeer, Corey Morris, Tom Grover, Sam Butler, Rhys Nicholas, Hugo Wellum, Toby Rossiter, Jack Murphy, Nathan Farmiloe, Elliot Goldsmith, Daniel Fairlie, George McBeth, D'Arcy Escott. Hundleton U10s 0 Tenby U10s A 11  What a difference a week makes! Tenby A returned to winning ways in emphatic style on Saturday - romping to a double-figure victory over a shell- shocked Hundleton side. A bumpy pitch and a chilly morning didn't seem to disturb the boys' rhythm as they began the game confidently and immediately put the home side on the back foot. With wing-backs Tom Harries and Spencer Williams pushing forward at every opportunity to support the midfield, Tenby looked much more balanced and created several early chances. The opening goal came after five minutes when Sean Conbeer made a jinking run down the left and played a lovely cut-back to Declan Escott on the edge of the Hundleton area. The 'keeper got his fingers to the striker's shot, but couldn't keep it out. The early goal spurred Tenby on and they had immediate chances to increase the lead. However, Hundleton continued to battle hard in midfield and eased the pressure with a series of massive kicks from their 'keeper. The Seasiders stayed calm, patiently retained possession and continued to build their attacks from the back. Their fluid passing moves were eventually rewarded when Scott Ferney received the ball on the edge of the box, spun away from his marker and scored with a crisp left-foot shot.    At the end of the first-half, disaster then struck for Hundleton, who conceded two own goals in little more than a minute, both from deflected crosses whipped into the danger zone. Tenby then ran riot in the second half. Their fifth goal followed a pefectly placed cross from Scott Ferney, which was neatly knocked down by Sean Conbeer and volleyed in by Declan Escott, who soon added a sixth. As Hundleton began to defend deeper, the Tenby back three were able to press further up the field. Spencer Williams and Tom Harries continued to make great runs down the flanks,  and centre back Owen Coombs had a shot deflected. From the resulting corner, he sent a powerful header just over the bar and into a distant clump of brambles. Having retrieved the ball (and possibly wishing that they hadn't!) the home side then conceded again. Another great cross from Scott Ferney fell to Declan Escott, who made it seven-nil. As the Hundleton defence wilted, Declan Escott then added three goals in three minutes. The first was a long shot that rattled off the far post. The next was a simple tap-in after a great through ball from Dylan Rees. The striker then shot off the cross-bar and cooly slotted home the rebound to score his seventh and Tenby's 10th. Towards the end of the half, Tom Dyson came on in midfield and battled well to keep Tenby pushing forward in the final moments. The team's last goal then followed one of the best moves of the game. Owen Coombs burst down the centre and played a deft diagonal ball into the path of Dylan Rees. After a neat interchange of passes, Declan Escott unselfishly side-footed the ball across the face of goal, allowing Dylan Rees to nudge the ball in at the far post. It was a fitting end to a fantastic team performance. The final scoreline was possibly a little harsh on Hundleton, whose confidence clearly collapsed after conceding those two own goals at the end of the first half. However, the size of the Tenby defeat wasn't really important. It was just great to see the team passing and moving with such flair, and if the boys can keep up this level of performance in the weeks ahead, it promises to be another terrific season! Thanks to Park Road Fish and Chips, the Tenby Under 10s kit sponsors, and to the supporters of both sides. NARBERTH 0 TENBY U10s B 5

Despite the chilly morning air, Tenby B did not disappoint yet again and finished off their third match with another convincing win against a determined Narberth side on Saturday. Initially, both sides were equally matched, but it was Tenby who dominated the midfield with Ryan Kent, Luke Harland and Adam Muskett putting in a fine display, creating some fast attacking breaks with Adam Muskett being denied early on. Tenby's persistence started to pay off with some great runs down the right handside from Luke Hartland which constantly troubled the Narberth defence. The new strike partnership of Dylan Price and Liam Bowen up front delivered plenty of chances and displayed some fine creative link-up play. Tenby's improved development clearly showing through after a clever four-pass combination which resulted in Liam Bowens shot narrowly being cleared. Narberth produced some fine play on the break, but the Tenby defence of Daniel Tiesing, Joel Downs and Henrik Jaakola put in a solid display to thwart Narberth's efforts. A great clearance out of defence by Henrik Jaakola allowed Tenby to push forward with a fine shot from Dylan Price being cleared, but Liam Bowen was at hand to collect and fire in Tenby's first goal. Narberth pushed forward but a timely interception from Daniel Tiesing was quickly converted into another Tenby attack with Dylan Price picking up the loose ball and after some fine running at the Narberth defence, he drove in a long shot cleanly into the bottom left hand corner for Tenby's second goal. Narberth pushed forward and fought hard to gain possession but couldn't get past the clutches of the Tenby 'keeper, Joseph Criddle, who saved a fine shot and was well collected and cleared by Joel Downes. Narberth fought back to gain possession, but they were intercepted again by Daniel Tiesing who quickly passed onto Henrik Jaakola who then made a great clearance down the line. From there, Adam Muskett picked the ball up and cleverly passed to Liam Bowen who tapped the ball into the net for his second goal of the match, and Tenby were 3-0 up at half-time. The pressure was on immediately with excellent play by Daniel Tiesing and Liam Bowen allowing Luke Hartland to drive forward and fire in an impressive long range effort and a much deserved goal to make Tenby's fourth. Tenby pushed forward again with great link-up play from Liam Bowen and Dylan Price. A well delivered pass from Liam Bowen onto Dylan Price was taken cleverly taken on the turn and driven into the net with a fine effort giving the striker his second goal and Tenby's fifth of the match. All credit to Narberth who continued to push forward and in the last seconds of the match pilled on some heavy pressure and were unlucky not to score, thanks to a last-gasp goal line clearance by Daniel Tiesing. Tenby B had won their previous two games. Pennar A 1 v Tenby B 5 (Liam Bowen 2, Dylan Price, Adam Muskett, Luke Hartland). Hundleton 1 v Tenby B 3 (Dylan Price 2, Liam Bowen). Many thanks to Park Road Fish and Chips, the Tenby Under 10s kit sponsors, and to all the parents for their positive support and encouragement.

TENBY U11s 0 LAMPHEY U11s 1

Tenby Under 11s battled well in a highly competitive match against Lamphey. In this entertaining game, it was end-to-end stuff, with both sides playing some good football. Tenby held on in the first half through excellent defending by Jacob Dent, Robert Davies and Nathan Wilson. Lloyd Hughes and James Bridges ran well against much bigger boys and Brendan Taylor-Monaghan made several chances up front. Ryan Price and Bradley Clement supported Brandon and tackled back well. Ryan Hill kept a clean sheet in goal during the first half and made a superb save early in the second half. Lamphey scored late in the second half after Ryan had made a good save, but unfortunately Lamphey reacted quicker than Tenby and slotted the ball home. Tenby kept battling until the final whistle, but it was not to be their day. Tenby: Ryan Hill, Jacob Dent, Robert Davies, Brandon Taylor- Monaghan, James Bridges, Lloyd Hughes, Ryan Price, Bradley Clement, Nathan Wilson.

TENBY U8s 11 PRENDERGAST U8s 1

It was a cold, murky morning for the eager young Tenby side as they travelled to Prendergast, keen to achieve another win. Tenby proved to be a constant threat from the start, with some fantastic early goals coming from the boot of the ever persistent Toby Poole and alongside him, on fantastic form, Daniel Wainwright. The whole team played a vital role in achieving these fast and furious goals. As ever, James Harris was amazing in goal (but didn't have to work quite as hard as last week), while Jack Broadhurst and Tom James were determined and passionate in their defence and constant marking of the opposition. Some great runs were produced by Elliot Moorhouse and Thomas Murphy, who constantly put the ball where the goal-scorers needed it. Elliot played a vital part alongside the goal scorers, always being in the right place at the right time, fighting to the bitter end. Thomas Murphy also had some excellent runs, keeping his determination on the ball, while Cai Elms proved to be a constant thorn in his opponents' side with some great tackling and control of the ball. The second half saw some changes. James was replaced in goal by Daniel Murray, who kept up the great goalkeeping that Tenby is used to. James Harris, however, provied as strong on the field as in goal, showing that his right foot can put the ball in the back of the net, which he did on three occasions. More goals came from Toby Poole, who had an amazing five in total, and some fabulous footwork was seen from Daniel Wainwright, who managed to add three in total to the scoreboard. These boys were certainly well on form! George Amos and Alex Brace came on to keep up the constant pressure against the opposition. Full of energy, they proved a vital part of the Tenby side. Ben Palin also showed that his fast pace on the wing is vital, being very unlucky with a shot at goal. Prendergast managed to get one goal before the final whistle, with the match ending in a fabulous win for Tenby, who are growing in confidence and skill. Keep it up boys! A big thank you once again goes to the ever- dedicated coach, Matthew Broadhurst, and to all the parents making the trip to Haverfordwest. Hundleton at home next week - look-out Hundleton! U8s squad: Tom James, Elliot Moorhouse, Jack Broadhurst, Thomas Murphy, Toby Poole, Daniel Wainwright, Daniel Murray, Cai Elms, Alex Brace, James Harris, George Amos, Ben Palin.
