CLARBESTON RD U16s 3

TENBY U16s 6

Tenby Under 16s, sponsored by Tees-R-Us, were always in control of this match and just failed to convert the numerous chances they created. On the other hand, the home side never gave up trying and stunned their counterparts with three goals out of nothing.

The visitors attacked from the start and penned the Road in their own half for a long period, hitting the woodwork and having two goals disallowed, before Clarbie hit them on the break scoring with a good strike.

Lloyd Wilson drew Tenby level after one of his typical bullish runs and Liam Robson put them in front from the penalty spot. Just before half-time, a cross from Perry Broadhurst was volleyed in at the far post by Sonny Phillips.

Clarbeston Road pulled one back after the restart when the Tenby defence were caught napping, but Bruce Tasker came to their rescue, hitting a second-half hat-trick, after replacing Sonny Phillips.

The home side did manage a late goal, but the game was all but over thanks to Tasker.

HERBRANDSTON U16s 2

Games against Herbrandston are always difficult and this one was no exception.

The match was evenly balanced during the opening 20 minutes until Tenby, sponsored by Tees-R-Us, were awarded a penalty when Liam Robson was clumsily pushed over in the area. Robson got up, dusted himself down and converted the spot kick, his third in as many games. Jack Christopher provided the perfect pass for Robson to net number two minutes before the half-time whistle.

Herbrandston scored 15 seconds into the second-half, but their comeback was short-lived as Bruce Tasker got on to a Christopher cross to fire home.

Robson added his third of the game and Christopher headed superbly to grab number five.

The visitors weren't finished and pulled another goal back, but by now Tenby had the bit between their teeth and almost scored at will. Goals from Christopher, two more from Tasker, his second hat-trick in a week, and captain Darren Taylor completed the rout.

ST. CLEARS 1

Tenby U13s started off with a good win against St. Clears at the start of their midweek fixtures.

St. Clears opened the scoring and although Tenby fought back well, the scored remained 1-0 at half-time.

Tenby, knowing that they must win all six of their remaining games, stepped up a gear in the second-half.

Captain Aaron Goldsmith equalised with a long shot. After Gavin Kinsey ran well along the left flank, Mikey Boswell received the pass and laid the ball back to Goldsmith for a well-worked goal.

Boswell himself scored the second and then pressure on the St. Clears goalkeeper resulted in an own goal. Tenby were on a roll, with Sam Christopher, Luke Dedman and Gavin Kinsey all performing well.

Boswell scored again and Guto Griffiths, who had played a sterling game at left-back, moved up to score a lovely goal. Adam Johns played well in midfield with Goldsmith, and the defence of Scott Helmich, Jordan Lloyd and Joe Scourfield looked unbeatable at times, with Richard Thomas commanding the 18-yard box.

Indeed, St. Clears found it difficult to mount an attack.

Henry Boot and Richard Jones came on for Tenby and helped secure a vital three points.

Thanks to Luke Lawrence for refereeing and Mick for running the line again!

Squad: Richard Thomas, Joe Scourfield, Jordan Lloyd, Scott Helmich, Guto Griffiths, Aaron Goldsmith, Adam Johns, Gavin Kinsey, Luke Dedman, Sam Christopher, Mikey Boswell, Richard Jones, Henry Boot.

JOHNSTON 1

Tenby U13s had a second midweek match with a tough fixture against Johnston.

In their previous meeting it was a very close game and Tenby were up for revenge.

Tenby had several chances early on and at times dominated the game, but Johnston were ever-dangerous.

Luke Dedman made a great impact along the right-hand side and it was good interpassing between him and Mikey Boswell that resulted in Boswell scoring Tenby's first goal.

Tenby's defence was worked hard in this match, with Jordan Lloyd and Joe Scourfield outstanding. Scott Helmich and Brett Evans played right and left-back, respectively, and at times were tested to their limits.

Richard Thomas made some outstanding saves and Tenby were helped by the post and crossbar.

At the other end, Boswell and Sam Christopher had several chances to put their side further ahead. Aaron Goldsmith and Adam Johns kept the Johnston midfield under control for most of the game, while Gavin Kinsey and Dedman kept the pressure on from wide positions.

Boswell made sure of a second goal with a one-on-one with the Johnston 'keeper after Guto Griffiths put him through.

Henry Boot celebrated his birthday by coming on as a sub with Richard Jones to allow the overworked Tenby players a well-earned rest.

Johnston pulled one back with several minutes to go and it was a relieved Tenby side that heard the final whistle soon afterwards.

Thanks to Remi for refereeing and Martin for running the line.

NEYLAND U13s 0

TENBY U13s 7

Tenby U13s kept in the league title race with a 7-0 win at Neyland on Monday night.

Neyland started off the better team and at times Tenby looked ragged, but sheer determination by the defence kept the score sheet 0-0.

With 10 minutes to go to half-time Tenby started to click.

Luke Dedman opened the scoring after receiving the ball from Mikey Boswell. The Neyland 'keeper, who had an outstanding match, had no chance as Dedman rocketed the ball, almost bursting the net.

Boswell scored the second after latching onto a rebound and suddenly the game looked a bit more respectable.

Going down the slope in the second-half, Tenby had a lot more of the game, but Neyland never gave up. Richard Thomas had to command his 18-yard box and Jordan Lloyd, Joe Scourfield, Scott Helmich and Brett Evans were kept on their toes.

Guto Griffiths scored two quick goals in succession after being put through by Boswell and Aaron Goldsmith, respectively. Adam Johns linked well in midfield with Goldsmith and was unlucky not to score on several occasions.

Gavin Kinsey was outstanding in this match with his terrier-like tackling and this helped Dedman, who, having moved to a striker's role, shot in two more devastating goals.

Michael Halligan, Henry Boot and Richard Jones ran on for the last 15 minutes and Jones scored Tenby's seventh goal with a curling left foot shot.

Squad: Richard Thomas, Luke Dedman, Gavin Kinsey, Aaron Goldsmith, Mikey Boswell, Michael Halligan, Adam Johns, Jordan Lloyd, Joe Scourfield, Brett Evans, Scott Helmich, Henry Boot, Richard Jones, Guto Griffiths.

Thanks to Martin and Nick for running the line.
