CAMROSE U14s 1 TENBY U14s 13

Tenby travelled to Camrose with a strong will to win. Early pressure brought rewards of a class header into goal from Greg Caine from a corner whipped in by Craig Lucus. Camrose created pressure from the right and a quick pass in was hit past Dan in goal. Tenby reacted quickly to bring the half-time score to 7-1, with goals by Ben (3), Greg (2), Craig and Jake. But better finishing could have brought the scoreline higher Second half changes saw Iwan brought off to make room for Tom. Alex worked hard in the midfield to provide a header on to Greg Palin, who slotted home Will pushed forward to show he has not lost his goal scoring touch and it was not long before a cool header was in the back of the net. Into the last five minutes, Jake dropped back to allow Owen to push up to midfield and get involved, supporting another goal from Will. For the last 10, Robin was rested to allow Cameron on to the pitch. Good support play from Alex soon allowed him the opportunity to get on the scoresheet, hitting home and bringing the scoreline to 11-1 Ben notched another in the last five minutes, along with Will, who finished the day with a hat-trick before the whistle. Tenby again provided a great performance, showing strength in the squad, who can play entertaining passing footaball Twam: Dan Storer, Owen Bateman, Alex Bailey, Will Cowan, Iwan Izzard, Craig Lucus, Jake Proctor, Greg Palin, Ben Steel, Robin Munrow-Goddard, Greg Caine, Tom Woolford and Cameron Wood.

TENBY U13s 3 MONKTON SWIFTS U13s 5 The sun was nearly shining, the Clicketts was busy... extremely busy. Difficult to park and a changing room difficult to come by - vital pre- match bonding not possible. Another week and injury, holiday/social commitments and illness deprived us of several key, experienced players against visitors who have always proved extremely formidable opponents. Kick off, the visitors were 'up for it', but an early goal from Elliot gave us an unexpected lead against the run of play. Minutes later, Joe tapped a free- kick to Hugo - on target - back of the net! Two-nil up, but shaky. Then a dreaded 'OG' gave Monkton a vital foothold and they secured a second for honours even at half-time. An under-strength Tenby side refused to lie down as the second half progressed and Joe made it 3-2 early on. Monkton were strong, organised and committed, and with the ball running in their favour, they eventually took control. Three more before the final whistle - it could have been more, but Tenby rallied gallantly. It wasn't to be our day, but Monkton were good. Your unbeaten league record may have gone boys, but you're still in there. It may not have been your weekend, but the English football team are at the mercy of others; English rugby, great entertainers... have gone; Lewis Hamilton - wow, what happened and even Ronnie O'Sullivan suffered - your hopes are still alive. Their hopes aren't. Don't lose heart - you can still achieve! Thanks to coach John, the touchline gang and to the players George, Corey, Jack, Ben, Sam, Hugo, Joe, Cheyne, Jake, Elliot, Daniel. P.S. Hyypia's 'OG' was better than yours J! Tenby Under 12s 6 Narberth under 12s 2

Tenby attacked quickly down the slope and Narberth soon had to use an offside plan to protect their goal. A couple of early shots gave no problem to the Narberth goalkeeper, but then home captain Jerome Mansbridge fired in a left foot shot to put Tenby into the lead. Tenby tried to get into their usual rhythm, but were inaccurate with their passing, although some direct pressure on the Narberth goal resulted in Mansbridge firing in another left foot shot from close range. Narberth were always prepared to strike back and Jacob Dent and Nathan Wilson did well to hold the defensive line just inside their own half. After a couple of Narberth attacks were held up by blocks by Lewis Roberts in the Tenby goal, Mansbridge again broke away and, closing in from the left side, fired in an unstoppable cross-shot to record an impressive hat-trick as his side went 3-0 ahead. Tenby continued to struggle to get their passing game together, and when the ball was lost on their left side at the half-way line, Narberth struck back with a good individual goal. Tenby replied twice through Morgan Slate following poor marking in the Narberth defence, and a 5-1 lead was established by half-time. Narberth showed great determination during the second half, and Tenby were pressurised into making mistakes, with their passing around the edge of the visitors' penalty area being particularly poor. Clear goal-scoring opportunities were lost as a result, as the shooting was well off-target, to keep Narberth in a game which should have been put well beyond their reach by early in the second half. Narberth kept going well, and as Tenby pushed forward, Rob Davies had to cover quickly on occasions, and Miguel Cruz had a fast winger to mark. Tenby tried hard to increase their lead, but their shots were still well off target, until Mansbridge found the net with a hard cross-shot. Narberth again scored to remind the home team the that match remained closer than was expected, although Tenby's 6-2 win was eventually a fair reflection on the overall play. Tenby squad: Lewis Roberts, Jacob Dent, Rob Davies, Nathan Wilson, Brandon Taylor-Monaghan, Miguel Cruz, James Bridges, Jerome Mansbridge, Richard Tebbutt, Ryan Price, Ellis Morgan, Ryan Hill, Morgan Slate. Thanks to Richard Bridges for refereeing.

Tenby U11s A 6 Tenby U11s B 0

The two Tenby Under 11 teams met at the Clicketts at the weekend, and after a close first half the As went on to record their third victory of the season. Having put 10 past Narberth the preceding week, Tenby As were always firm favourites for this most local of derbies. However, it took them 15 minutes to open the scoring against a determined and hard working Tenby Bs defence. Jake Davies, Daniel Teising and Paul Foster all showed excellent commitment at the back. And the B defence kept its shape well with rolling substitutions that saw Ari Canassa, Tom Hancock and Joel Downes coming on to further frustrate the A team forwards. Despite the Bs resolute defending, Tenby As still managed to create several good chances in the opening minutes. Delan Escott fired just over the bar, and saw a couple of other chances creep just outside the post, before midfielder Luke Hartland almost fired the Bs into a shock lead on the break After a series of Tenby A corners on the left, the ball came out to centre back Owen Coombs. His powerful 20-yard volley was parried by Tenby B 'keeper William Davies, who then reacted quickly to regain a hold on the ball. The 'keeper also did brilliantly to tip a rasping Dylan Rees drive past the post. However, he could do nothing when a neat cross from Spencer Williams was knocked back across the goal by Dylan Rees and finished at the far post by Scott Ferney to put the As into the lead. Tenby As then almost extended their lead from a corner on the stroke of half-time, but Bs midfielder Sean Conbeer was well placed to head the ball off the line. Tenby Bs stepped up their game in the second half, with new striker Jake Morgan unleashing a right- foot rocket that seemed destined to level the scores, only for Tenby A 'keeper Daniel Evans to leap to his right like the proverbial scalded cat and somehow palm the ball behind. Moments later, not to be outdone, William Davies in the other goal made a superb reflex save to deny Scott Ferney.  Tenby B continued to battle for an equaliser, and Tom Harries and Adam Muskett were kept busy in the Tenby A defence. Unfortunately for the Bs, all their hard work was undone in one fateful minute. As they pushed upfield with greater confidence, so spaces opened up in defence, and a cross from Scott Ferney was slotted in at the far post by Spencer Williams. And within seconds of the restart, Declan Escott latched onto a long pass to make it 3-0. To Tenby Bs credit, they almost snatched one back when Sam Perret made a skilful run down the left and lofted an angled shot agonisingly just past the far post. In the final few minutes, the Tenby As fitness began to tell. County 'keeper Will Davies made a series of great saves from point blank range, but when a deft knock back from Declan Escott found Dylan Rees unmarked 10 yards out, his unstoppable drive made it four for the As. Shortly after the restart, defender Owen Coombs won the ball in the centre, broke from his own half and sent a long diagonal pass to the feet of Scott Ferney five yards from goal. His quick turn wrong- footed a defender and he side-footed Tenby A into a five-nil lead. Just before the final whistle, Lloyd Hughes capped an excellent performance in left midfield with a sixth goal for the As. Well done to all the Tenby boys for a great game of football. Thanks as ever to match referee Nicky Rees and to Newey Electrical Installations Ltd, the Tenby A kit sponsors.

TENBY U9s 6 PRENDERGAST 1

Playing 20 minutes each way against Prendergast, the first half saw plenty of excellent play by both teams, tackling and defending well. Some great runs by Tom Murphy and Dan Wainwright set up some great shots on goal by the Tenby side, which resulted in a goal by Toby Poole, followed quickly by another straight into the back of the net. Just before the whistle blew, a great goal by Prendergast resulted in 2-1 score at half-time. The second half proved even more eventful as the pace quickened. Tenby's third goal came quickly off Toby's boot, after some great midfield work by Ben Palin and Caie Elms. Elliott Moorhouse, Tom James and Jack Broadhurst, back in his defensive position, defended brilliantly and passed the ball well. Back in goal was James Harris, who made some great saves. George Amos and Sam Williams played well in their positions and added to the team spirit. A great run by Caie Elms resulted in a cracking goal right in the back of the net. The final 10 minutes saw numerous runs on the left and right flanks from Ben Palin and Thomas Murphy, who set up a further two goals, one for Toby and a great one off the foot of Daniel Wainwright just as the final whistle blew. Another great result for the young side. Thanks go to coach Matthew Broadhurst and to all parents for their continued support. Team: George Amos, Sam Williams, Caie Elms, Ben Palin, Elliott Moorhouse, Tom James, Tom Murphy, Daniel Wainwright, Jack Broadhurst and Toby Poole. TENBY U10s 14 CAREW 0

Tenby boys were away to Carew this week and were all keen to continue on their good form. Frazer was working hard and kept winning the ball, but Carew were defending well and keeping George and Luke away from their goal. Tenby's defending was as strong as ever, with Harry and Jordan both keeping the ball out of the Tenby half and goalkeeper Adam constantly staying alert. Carew managed to make a break, but Jordan got the ball away with a strong pass down field to Frazer and Malley, who were being robbed of goals with some excellent saves from the Carew 'keeper. With coaches Lloyd and Jason shouting encouragement to the boys, Tenby finally made a break, with some great team playing enabling Frazer to score his well-deserved first goal. Tenby boys started playing some great football and Billy, who was having some lovely touches of the ball, passed to Ben, who made a break down the line, passing to Luke, who scored. Luke scored a second goal and an excellent pass from Malley saw him getting his hat-trick as he headed the ball into the net with confidence. Tenby boys seemed to be much more awake in the second half and Rhys scored his first goal. All the boys were playing some lovely football, Jordan, Harry and Ben proving to be a solid defence to beat, with Adam shouting and marshalling them well. Billy, Malley and Rhys were passing well in midfield, getting the ball to George, who scored his first goal. Ben was doing his usual trick of bringing the ball all the way up the pitch, enabling Billy to get his first goal. With the whole of the Tenby team working together, they dominated Carew, with Rhys scoring three more goals, Malley scoring his first, Billy scoring his second, George scoring his second with another good header and Luke, who has a great eye for the goal, scoring two more. Thanks go to everyone who supports the boys. Team: Adam Davidson, Harry Goforth, Jordan Cornick, Ben Howells, Malley Paxton, Billy Truman, Rhys Davies, George Taylor, Frazer Finlay and Luke Billing.
