GIRLS FOOTBALL

First game for the Under 12s A team last weekend was against Neyland Athletic. Tenby won 7-0, with Nikki Furlong 3, Danielle Jones 2, Jade Manning and Jenna Wright all scoring. Jodie Fecci played in goal, with Victoria Brace and Leila May in the squad.

Their second game was against Goodwick, which they again won, 4-0, with Nikki scoring all the goals.

Thanks to Tim Brace for looking after the team.

The Tenby Under 12s B team met Neyland Terriers in their first match. The Tenby team started with Becka Mearns in goal, Sophie John in defence, Holly Cloake and Bethan Roberts in midfield, with Gracie Bevan and Nia Thomas up front.

The first goal was scored by Gracie from a fast break on the right-hand side of the pitch after a good cross from Holly Cloake.

The second goal was by Bethan soon into the second-half after a good save in goal by Becka.

The third goal, which secured the match, was by Bethan. Result a win for Tenby, 3-0.

The match against Saundersfoot was a lot tougher. Both teams had a number of shots at goal that were unsuccessful.

Bethan played in goal to start and was very quick and alert, having a number of good saves. Lucy and Sophie John played solid in defence and midfield. Gracie and Nia, along with Bethan, played well up front, tackling well, and were fast to the ball.

Unfortunately, for both teams, nobody was able to score a goal. Result, a 0-0 draw.

Many thanks to all parents and helpers for their support during the matches. There will be no games on Sunday, November 18.

The Under 14s lost their first game 3-0 against Johnston, but they were able to make amends when they beat St. David's B 4-0, with a hat-trick from Annie Davies and Liz Nicholas adding the fourth.

Kaylie Davies played in goal due to an ankle injury and Lauren Wright, Kelly Furlong and Rebecca Bevan all played well during the matches. Thanks to Dawn and Ruth for running the girls.

TENBY U10s 2

KILGETTY U10s 2

Tenby U10s kicked off this local derby in damp conditions, determined to keep their unbeaten record intact. However, Kilgetty had other ideas and attacked the home goal from the start.

The game flowed from end to end, with shots from both sides going close.

Tenby took the lead with a good attacking move down the right by Lloyd who crossed the ball into the centre for Daryl to score.

They then had to rely on some excellent defensive work by Cerith, Brad and Lewis Davies to keep Kilgetty out until half-time.

The second-half saw both sides on the attack again, with Henry, Ianto and Lloyd all working hard in midfield.

An excellent move by Henry then laid off the ball to Brad, who hit it on the volley into the back of the net for 2-0.

Kilgetty attacked with everything, but Tenby's defence was holding out, with Tom Nicholas making some good tackles and Lewis Hodgeson saving everything thrown at him.

Kilgetty then had a free-kick and Callum Proctor made no mistake with a well-taken goal to make it 2-1.

Tenby attacked Kilgetty's goal and Sam Ormond nearly made the game safe, but narrowly missed.

Kilgetty then had another free-kick and Tom Baker's shot found the Tenby net for a great game to end in a draw - a fair result.

NEATH 7 TENBY U14s 0

Tenby Under 14s Manpower sponsored team travelled in style on a coach to Neath to play in the West Wales Cup.

Tenby were taken by surprise in the first 10 minutes, when the centre forward for Neath ploughed through to score two quick goals.

It wasn't to be the Seasiders' game, with Neath all being up for it on the day and they were far more motivated than the Tenby squad.

Three more goals followed in the opening half, bringing the score to 5-0 at half-time.

In fairness to Tenby, their heads didn't go down and they fought back, but again it wasn't to be their day. Lloyd Wilson hit the woodwork from a fine volley, as did Luc Barford from an excellent free-kick, and at least four other attempts were cleared off the line.

It was game on and Tenby played well, but two more goals were scored on the break by Neath which made it an impossible task for Tenby.

A special mention to Bruce Tasker, Lloyd Wilson, Adam Ball and Sonny Phillips who all gave 100 per cent, which unfortunately cannot be said of all the team. The game was played in an excellent spirit and the boys had a good day.

Thanks to parents for their support.

KILGETTY U16s 1

TENBY U16s 12

The Lewis, Lewis and Co, Solicitors, sponsored Tenby Under 16s travelled the short distance to Kilgetty last Saturday for their sixth league match of the season. A constant drizzle fell throughout the game, which, as time wore on, turned the pitch into a quagmire.

It took Tenby just 60 seconds to open the scoring through Jack Christopher, but the home team replied 10 minutes later after Ricky Rees-Thomas was put through.

The Seasiders managed to score three more goals during the opening period; Matthew Birch got one and two from Christopher to complete a well-taken headed hat-trick.

The visitors often made hard work for themselves and Kilgetty could have pulled one or two goals back before the interval.

Tenby controlled the second half, scoring eight goals without reply. Scott Smith, Mike Davis, Tom Page, Matthew Birch, Liam Robson, Tom Hilling and David Day with two were on target for the Seasiders.

Tom Hilling also entertained the crowd with his imitation of Gareth Southgate.

Thanks to Wisebuys for the half-time oranges and to Tenby's loyal band of supporters, but where were Paula and Gareth?
