CAMROSE U15s 0
TENBY U15s 0
Strong winds and a touchline ban for the unofficial team mascot met the T. P. Hughes sponsored team on arrival.
Wind at their backs, brimming with confidence, Tenby took Camrose by storm, creating chance after chance, backed by cast iron defending.
Into the second half and the Seasiders were winning the 50-50 balls and again took control, but the score remained 0-0 at the final whistle.
The Tenby players were magnificent and can be proud of their performance, with a display of belief, attitude and commitment.
Thanks to James, John, Ted, T. P. Hughes, Jameston Village Stores and the touchline gang, who were privileged to see such a mature performance!
Tenby squad: George McBeth, Cheyne Lloyd, Tom Grover, Sam Butler, Jack Murphy, Hugo Wellum, Joe Worley, Toby Rossiter, David Webb, George Lander, James Adie, Elliot Goldsmith, Rhys Nicholas, Rob Davies.
Tenby U13s 13
Camrose U13s 0
A rampant U13s side proved too strong for Camrose on Saturday, with the goals flowing in again at the Clicketts.
Tenby dominated possession in this encounter, with Will Davies in the Tenby goal having only one touch of the ball in the entire game (and that was from a back pass from centre back Adam Muskett).
Ben Roberts and Luke Hartland also looked very solid in defence, while Spencer Williams showed his versatility, having an excellent game at left back in a reshuffled line-up. However, it was a quiet morning for the defence, with most of the action taking place in the Camrose penalty area.
Lloyd Hughes opened the scoring with a close range volley. And Kieren Jones soon made it two to Tenby, firing in the rebound after a header hit the bar.
Owen Coombs made it 3-0 after the 'keeper spilled a shot, and Adam John flicked in a header at the near post for goal four.
A neat pass from Scott Ferney put in Kieren Jones, who scored goal five with a powerful low drive from the edge of the area. A superb lofted shot from Declan Escott made it 6-0 at half-time.
Tom Harries came on at left-back and linked up well with Owen Coombs, who played in Lloyd Hughes for his second of the morning.
To try and stem the flood of goals, Camrose packed the penalty area, but Lloyd Hughes eventually managed to bundle the ball in through a crowd of players to make it 8-0.
A series of well-delivered Tenby corners followed, and when Daniel Evans flicked the ball across the box, Owen Coombs pounced at the far-post to nod in number nine.
Tenby had four goals chalked off for offside, before a long range effort from Declan Escott put the home side into double figures, and then completed his hat-trick.
Daniel Evans lifted the ball over the 'keeper to make it 12-0. And Lloyd Hughes scored his third to make it a baker's dozen in the closing minute.
Thanks to match referee Steve Escott, and to the U13s kit sponsor, Park Road Fish and Chips.
St. Florence 0
Tenby Under 11s 4
An early kick-off at St. Florence for the opening game of the season saw the seasiders take the points, with a hat-trick by the promising Toby Poole.
Tenby played up the slope in the first half and had plenty of possession, but the home team's defence was hard to break down.
Tenby worked some excellent moves, playing good positive football through the wings, with Ben Palin making some good runs.
St Florence kept pushing forward, but the defence of Tom Rossiter and Elliot Moorhouse stood firm and gave little space for the home side.
Eventually a good move from midfielder Caie Elms put Poole through for his first goal just before half-time.
The second half gave Tenby the advantage of the slope, which they used well, and after intense pressure, the ball fell to Tom James, who struck a lovely goal to put them two up, before Poole then grabbed another two.
St. Florence's goalkeeper played brilliantly and kept out shot after shot, giving his side confidence.
Tenby defender Sam Harries played a great game and the excellent Jack Broadhurst in goal gave the home side little opportunity to score, but St. Florence never gave up and battled until the end in this local derby.
Well done to the two sides for entertaining a good crowd who thoroughly enjoyed what was an excellent game.
Thanks to Matt Broadhurst and Steve Williams for managing the two sides with good football and sportsmanship, and appreciation for the continued sponsorship of County Financial Consultants.
Tenby U11 team: Jack Broadhurst, Sam Harries, Elliot Moorhouse, Tom Rossiter, Tom James, Ben Palin, Caie Elms, Toby Poole.
TENBY U12s 3 HUNDLETON U12s 2
The Andrew Price sponsored U12s hosted Hundleton last Saturday and what a cracker of a game it was.
After a 5-2 win at Hundleton the previous week, the boys made a great start in the return fixture as Adam pounced on a great through ball to fire a shot into the top corner.
Hundleton worked hard as usual and soon Natty was tested with a few long range efforts.
With the game end to end, there was a great battle in midfield, where Harri and Jack won more than their fair share of ball to allow Morgan and George to use width to attack a solid Hundleton defence.
Luke, for a long time, played the lone striker and worked really hard with little to show, but still never gave up the chase.
Matthew and Ben had work to do as the Hundleton forwards now tried to work their way into the Tenby area, but Harry and Jordan were strong and nothing was going past them.
The second goal was a beauty. Morgan picked up the ball on halfway and, with a Ryan Giggs-like run, beat half of the Hundleton team before producing a delightful finish to make it 2-0 at the break.
Hundleton came at Tenby after the break and soon made inroads into the penalty area. There were some great tackles from both teams, but it was a slip from Ben which resulted in the first Hundleton goal when his arm was adjudged to have made contact with the ball on landing. Referee Roger, who had an excellent game, was only feet away and awarded a penalty.
The spot kick was smashed into net by none other than Tenby old boy Rhys Davis, who only transferred midweek - a well-taken goal from a quality footballer. Good luck at your new club Rhys.
Then, with minutes to go, a shot going nowhere somehow deflected over Natty's head and dropped into the empty net to make it 2-2.
To be honest, it was now that Tenby played their best football; the passing was crisper and the runs looked more dangerous.
With fulltime approaching, Harri sent through a good ball for Jack to beat his man and squeeze the ball goalwards. A defender was just about to clear it, when up popped the tireless Luke to slot in what could be a decisive goal come the end of the season.
Minutes later the final whistle blew and it was the end to a great game of football.
Thanks to Roger for all his help and again 'well done boys'.
Team: Natty John, Matthew Webb, Ben Howells, Harry Goforth, Jordan Cornick, Harri Vaughan, Jack Parkinson (capt), Adam Davidson, Luke Billing, George Taylor, Morgan Scourfield.
Tenby U12s 15 pts. Pembroke 10
Tenby travelled away to Pembroke last Sunday. Fantastic playing conditions awaited the boys as they ran out wearing their new kit very kindly sponsord by Mark Duckett, of 'All-Mac' Machine Hire, Ground Works and Building Contractors.
In a very competitive clash, both teams were reluctant to give anything away.
Adam Davidson opened the scoring with a typically sniping run, only for Pembroke to hit back and score straightaway themselves. Tom Kinnear then had a powerful run through the centre to make it 10 -5 at half-time.
The second half saw more of the same ferocious tackling from both sides, but it was Tenby who struck again with a blistering run from Jordan Cornick, who touched down to make it 15-5.
Pembroke managed to get one try back to make the final score 15 - 10 to Tenby at the end of a very exciting and keenly fought game.
Thanks go to Pembroke RFC for hosting the game.
Tenby fielded: Max, Ryan, Lewis, Morgan, Mally, Jordan C, Jordan G, Curtis, Jacob, Adam, Nathaniel, Harry, Aran and Tom.
