Camrose first round of the Pembrokeshire Cup with home advantage? Interesting! Weather crisp and clear, coach John assisted by new man James on the line, would the T. P. Hughes sponsored team be able to repeat last season's semi-final heroics?
Tenby were dominant from the kick-off and took the game to Camrose. Every Tenby player was at the top of his game, passes were met, tackles made, the in-form Camrose goalie saving them countless times. But a lucky break (and it was!) against the run of play saw Camrose grab the advantage. It was 1-0 at half-time.
In the second half, immense Tenby pressure, continued dominance in all parts of the pitch. As the game drew to a close, unofficial team-mascot in full cry, corner after corner, the ball crossed the line in Tenby's favour... or did it? No line, no goal, no home advantage!
A travesty. Tenby deserved victory. Best performance ever by the entire team: George, Cheyne, Tom, Jack, Sam, Hugo, Joe, Toby, David, Elliot, James, Nathan - you were robbed!
Thanks to coach John and James, Ted, T. P. Hughes and Jameston Village Stores for the best 'kit' in Pembrokeshire for the best looking team, the ref, the touchline gang, but most importantly the boys who we are always massively proud of - Cheyne's pool party was much deserved!
