CLARBESTON ROAD U16s 1 TENBY U16s 9

Tenby Under 16s, sponsored by Willow Carpentry, marched through to the next round of the Cup after this comfortable win at Clarbeston Road.

Conditions were not best, with constant wind and rain throughout the match and the Seasiders also made life difficult by choosing too many wrong options, but hopefully this will be sorted out in training.

Tenby led at half-time by five goals to nil; Ashley Smith, Will Thomas, Declan Carroll all netting one, while Jordan Richards got two, the first an acrobatic overhead kick. The second half was much the same as the first, Tenby exerting lots of pressure, but not turning it into goals.

Carroll got his second by deftly lobbing the home 'keeper, before Clarby cut the deficit with a rare sortie into the Tenby half.

Rob Fairlie then took centre stage by scoring two goals, before Carroll wrapped up the morning's play by claiming his hat-trick.

Tenby side: J. Roberts, A. Heesom, G. Lees-Griffiths, P. Elliott, D. Edwards, A. Andrews, J. Finnegan, J. Richards, D. Carroll, A. Smith, W. Thomas, L. Moreland, R. Fairlie.

CLARBESTON ROAD 3

In this first round of the West Wales Cup, Tenby donned their away kit due to clashing colours.

The flow of play was interrupted because of a few offsides, but after dominating, Tenby took the lead courtesy of an own goal.

Joe up front grabbed a second, but 'Clarbie' stepped up their game and secured a goal before half-time.

After the break, the visitors equalised and then went ahead!

Playing against the wind and rain, Tenby were then awarded a free-kick close to the visitors' goal. Hugo stepped up with a strike which glanced in off a 'Clarbie' head to level it.

With extra-time looming, vocal encouragement from the sidelines rose.

James broke through, stopped to check he was on side and passed to Joe, who powered on, smashing the ball into the net.

Tenby were now rampant and Joe completed his hat-trick to make it 5-3.

Exciting, nerve-wracking cup football. Deserved success! Well done!

Thanks to coach John, touchline Ted, kit sponsors TP Hughes and Jameston Village Stores and the 'gang' who endured weather and nerves!

Team: McBeth, Lloyd, Grover, Murphy, Butler, Wellum, Rossiter, Goldsmith, Nicholas, Worley, Adie.

Tenby Under 13s 13 Hundleton under 0

Tenby created many chances in the first half against hard-working Hundleton, but only converted three of them, mainly due to a lack of composure. Pressure down the Tenby right involving James Bridges and Robert Davies saw dangerous crosses, and runs from Ellis Morgan threaten the visitors' goal.

Jerome Mansbridge opened the scoring and Ryan Price added a second, before Jerome put his side in front at 3-0 by half-time, with Hundleton having few opportunities.

Tenby benefited from Shaun Whitfield and Nathan Wilson, both impressive at the back, and the midfield of Richard Tebbutt and George Wilkins in the second half.

With better passing, goals from Ryan Price (2), Jimmy Bridges, Jack Tranter and Jerome Mansbridge (3) took the score to 10.

Despite some brave saves from Branden Fienhage in the Hundleton goal, Tenby scored further goals from Ellis Morgan and Richard Tebbutt, before Jerome Mansbridge fittingly brought the final score to 13-0.

Tenby squad: Lewis Roberts, Robert Davies, Marcus Read, Shaun Whitfield, Luke Conbeer, James Bridges, Richard Tebbutt, George Wilkins, Ryan Price, Jerome Mansbridge, Ellis Morgan, Nathan Wilson, Jack Tranter

HUNDLETON U9s 1

Tenby Under 9s returned to winning ways with an impressive performance against Hundleton.

After a rare defeat last week to main rivals Hakin, the boys showed great character and performed excellently.

Solid in defence were Dylan Scotcher, Ben Millwood and Finlay Bowie, who also pushed forward well and bagged himself two goals.

The management made a decision to bring Harry Williams out of defence to run the midfield, which worked like a dream as he provided quality crosses for the forwards, as well as scoring two fine goals himself.

Lewis Sarrionandia ran his socks off getting two goals for his efforts, while Herbie Haggar showed excellent skill and passing, also grabbing a goal to round off a fine performance.

Holding central midfielder Billy Lawrence was releasing his attacking midfielders well, while super striker Harry Cook was back on form with a great hat-trick, beating Hundleton's defence to the ball on every occasion.

Goalkeeper Fletcher Dyer got a little chilly standing still and in the second half switched to striker, netting three fine goals and showing great footballing skills for a goalie. Great passing, good football to watch. Well done boys.
