HAKIN U14s 2
TENBY U14s 3
After the Tuesday evening game which saw the T. P. Hughes sponsored team run out 16-0 winners over Saundersfoot, we travelled to Hakin for a fixture which is always a good, competitive and close game. Savaged by the midges at the Clicketts earlier in the week, it was a delight to arrive at the ground, high above a sparkling Cleddau Estuary in glorious sunshine and we were in for a real treat!
The Hakin team seemed to have grown as much as the Tenby players over the summer and it was a nervous start by Tenby until Laurie arrived with Jack's boots! Down to business. Hakin probably had most of the early possession and looked formidable until Jack, from his own half, beat the Hakin goalie with a free-kick.
The home side dominated the midfield, but the Tenby back four of Cheyne, Tom, Jack and Sam played like giants, with George commanding in goal. Hakin got a deserved equaliser, so it was 1-1 at half-time.
Nerves on the touchline were high as Hakin's dominance was rewarded with a second goal and it looked like we were about to suffer our first defeat of the season. But we had reckoned without Joe's powerful boot and he found the back of the net with a glorious drive from the edge of the area.
Our supporters then had to suffer an agonisingly long last quarter of the match as Tenby players rallied, many limping and sporting cuts from some strong, but fair tackles, until Elliot grabbed our third (what a great investment those impressive boots are!).
The minutes passed slowly, Jack was carried off, but hobbled back on to finish his task, and the final whistle came. Delight all round!
This was probably, from a spectators' viewpoint, one of the most thrilling league games we have seen. With George and the back four playing magnificently and some moments of outstanding play from the rest of the team, it was a deserved, hard fought victory. Well done to you all for digging so deep, staying committed to the task in hand and bringing home the points. Excellent!
Thanks to coach John, our kit sponsors T. P. Hughes, to Ted running the line and to all the supporters who endured such agonies on the touchline, but as ever, thanks to the players who showed fantastic team spirit, never letting their heads drop whilst pulling off a dramatic victory!
Squad: George McBeth, Cheyne Lloyd, Tom Grover, Jack Murphy, Sam Butler, Hugo Wellum, Joe Worley, Toby Rossiter, Rhys Nicholas, James Adie, Elliot Goldsmith, Nathan Farmiloe.

Pennar Robins U12s 0
Tenby continued their bright start in the Under 12s league with their fourth win of the season on Saturday.
Having scored a total of 48 goals and conceded none in their first three games against Narberth, Hebrandston and Letterston, Tenby went into the Pennar game brimming with confidence.
From the kick-off, Tenby dominated possession and soon opened the scoring when Spencer Williams made an explosive run down the left wing and his low cross was fired in by Adam John.
Tenby then went two up when another low cross from the left winger was deflected in by a Pennar defender.
Pennar made occasional forays into the Tenby half, but Charlie Gammer and Adam Muskett looked very strong in the centre of defence, and quickly thwarted any counter-attacks.
With Luke Hartland and Spencer Williams combining well on the left, and Tom Harries pushing up from right back, Tenby continued to create chances and went three-up when a low shot from Adam John was deflected past the 'keeper.
Lloyd Hughes pounced to fire in Tenby's fourth after the Pennar 'keeper spilled a shot.
Adam John then completed a first-half hat-trick, smashing in the rebound, after Declan Escott had flicked the ball onto the bar from a corner.
Undaunted, Pennar battled on in the second half, forcing a corner and almost getting one back with a firece volley that rippled the side netting.
But Tenby broke back quickly and made it six when a flighted cross from Adam John on the right, was neatly headed home by Declan Escott. A great long shot from Scott Ferney then increased the score to 7-0.
Owen Coombs came on in the second half and headed just wide with his first touch of the ball.
Sam Perrett and Jake Morgan also came off the subs bench and Tenby changed their formation, allowing Pennar to exert a couple of minutes pressure.
But with Dylan Rees bossing the game in midfield, the home side soon regained their rhythm, and in-form Adam John added two more goals to take the score to 9-0.
Tenby then got into double figures for the fourth game in a row when Owen Coombs shot from the edge of the area, and Scott Ferney knocked in the rebound.
Just before the final whistle, Tenby 'keeper Daniel Evans was called into action when Pennar finally broke through on goal. And a fine finger-tip save maintained another clean sheet for the Seasiders.
Many thanks to Pennar and their supporters for a spirited encounter, to match referee Nicky Rees, and to the U12s kit sponsor, Park Road Fish and Chips, who have very generously supplied the boys with tracksuits, training kits and a new team kit.

Kilgetty u13s 0
Kilgetty forced an early free-kick on the edge of the Tenby penalty area to pose an early threat to the home goal.
Tenby then settled, with George Wilkins and Brandon Taylor-Monaghan starting some moves to get Jerome Mansbridge on a run through the middle, and James Bridges down the outside.
Kilgetty held firm for a while, with their goalkeeper racing from his goal to cover on several occasions.
After a period of sustained pressure on the visitors' goal, a shot deflected by a defender gave Tenby the lead and this was closely followed by a goal from James Bridges.
Kilgetty fought back well and put dangerous free-kicks and crosses into the Tenby penalty area where the back four of Jacob Dent, Marcus Read, Shaun Whitfield and Nathan Wilson tackled and covered well.
Behind them, Lewis Roberts advanced confidently to catch the high balls or block shots at the feet of the forwards when his defence was beaten.
Some very even first half play, featuring some runs by Elliott Rivers and Ellis Morgan which ended with some sound defending by Kilgetty, meant that Tenby were having difficulty in adding to their 2-0 lead.
George Wilkins thought otherwise with a beautifully measured through pass to Jerome Mansbridge, who made no mistake with his left foot to send his team into a 3-0 half-time lead.
The second half started well for Tenby when George Wilkins chipped the ball over Andrew Barnard in the Kilgetty goal to make the score 4-0.
After this, Tenby attacked strongly on several occasions, with Ellis Morgan, Jerome Mansbridge and James Bridges prominent, but Kilgetty's defence held out well to keep the score in check.
Morgan Slate and Luke Conbeer played well when they came on and both had a chance to put Tenby further ahead. Jack Tranter slotted in well on the left flank and Tenby, as a squad, were showing more regular glimpses of what they are really capable of in a well-contested match.
Tenby squad: Lewis Roberts, Jacob Dent, Marcus Read, Shaun Whitfield, Nathan Wilson, Elliott Rivers, Brandon Taylor-Monaghan, George Wilkins, James Bridges, Ellis Morgan, Jerome Mansbridge (capt.), Luke Conbeer, Morgan Slate, Jack Tranter.
Tenby player-of-the-match - George Wilkins.
Thanks to Richard Bridges for refereeing and to Steve Wilkins for running the line.

JOHNSTON U16s 4
Tenby Under 16s, sponsored by Willow Carpentry, recorded their second win of the season over a very strong Johnston side. Matches between these two teams are always close and this latest meeting was no exception. However, Tenby held on for an important victory.
Tenby opened the scoring following a good run by Ashley Smith, who found an unmarked Gareth Warlow to score from 15 yards. This lead was short-lived when a Johnston corner was half cleared and Garin Scriven fired in from close range. Back came Tenby and restored their lead when man-of-the-match Smith grabbed two goals to put his side in the driving seat.
Johnston closed the gap, when Adam Banner slotted home a free-kick from the edge of the box, but on the stroke of half-time Will Thomas curled in a free-kick of his own to give the Seasiders a two-goal advantage.
The visitors came out firing on all cylinders in the second period and reduced the arrears when substitute Tommy Llewellyn shot past Jake Roberts in the Tenby goal.
Tenby weathered this storm and brought on a super sub of their own. Declan Carroll had only been on the pitch two minutes when he ran on to a good through ball from Jordan Richards and slotted it past the Johnston 'keeper.
However, back came the visitors and once again they reduced the deficit to one goal, when Mike Griffiths was given too much room inside the penalty area.
But Tenby, and in particular Carroll, had the last word. Jason Finnegan pumped the ball forward and Carroll was first to get to it and calmly lobbed the advancing Johnston 'keeper.
With five minutes remaining, Tenby had a corner which saw Greg Lees-Griffiths rise unchallenged and head superbly into the back of the net to make the game safe.
Tenby side: J. Roberts, A. Heesom, C. Hurlow, G. Lees-Griffiths, D. Edwards, A. Andrews, J. Finnegan, J. Richards, G. Warlow, W. Thomas, A. Smith, R. Fairlie, D. Carroll, P. Elliott.
