TENBY U16s 19
Tenby Under 16s, sponsored by Willow Carpentry, opened the new season with an emphatic victory over Neyland. Pre-season had been a bit of a headache, with the weather playing havoc with training and several friendly games also being called off due to waterlogged pitches. However, this game proved the perfect opener.
Played in summer-like conditions, Tenby had the game won by half-time, scoring 13 goals without reply. Gareth Warlow had four, Will Thomas three, Jordan Richards two, Ashley Smith two and Greg Lees-Griffiths two.
Phil Horsley, Aaron Roberts and Johnnie Delahunty played the second half in place of Alex Heesom, Ashley Smith and Gareth Warlow. The tempo during this period was a lot slower than the first due to the heat, but the outcome was the same.
Thomas and Richards grabbed another two each and Lees-Griffiths got one. New signing Jason Finnegan scored from the penalty spot and had an excellent game in midfield.
Tenby Under 16s captain this season will be Curtis Hurlow and his vice-captain will be Will Thomas. All information regarding the Under 16s and all the other Tenby teams can be found on the club website at http://www.tenbyafc.co.uk">www.tenbyafc.co.uk

Tenby started the season well with an impressive win in a match they totally dominated from start to finish.
Jerome Mansbridge opened the scoring early in the game, and but for some brilliant saves by the tall Hundleton goalkeeper, the visitors would have doubled their half-time lead of 6-0.
Some energetic play by George Wilkins and Richard Tebbutt meant that Tenby were generally in control of the midfield and they provided the important link between the sound Tenby back four of Jacob Dent, Marcus Read, Shaun Whitfield and Nathan Wilson and an eager attack.
Further goals from James Bridges, Elliott Rivers, Ellis Morgan and Jerome Mansbridge (2) completed a good first half against a Hundleton side that tried hard.
Tenby set about the second half in a professional manner, concentrating on possession play and creating a high number of goal-scoring opportunities.
Hundleton defended bravely and Tenby hit the post and missed a penalty as well as scoring through Richard Tebbutt (2), Jerome Mansbridge, Shaun Whitfield, George Wilkins and, in the final seconds, through Elliott Rivers, to complete a satisfactory outing.
Robert Davies, Jack Tranter and Ryan Price came on to perform well and keep up the momentum of the team.
The wide play of Elliott Rivers and James Bridges was a strong feature of the match, and goalkeeper Lewis Roberts was alert in the second half when needed to deal with a Hundleton breakaway, and preserve a clean sheet in a season where goal difference is going to be important.
Tenby's complete goal-scoring list was Jerome Mansbridge (4), Richard Tebbutt (2), Elliott Rivers (2), James Bridges, Ellis Morgan, Shaun Whitfield and George Wilkins.
