TENBY U12s 10 SAUNDERSFOOT U12s 0 The Manorbier Stores and Post Office sponsored side welcomed Saundersfoot to a pretty deserted Clicketts for their final game of 2006. After a fairly stagnant opening five minutes, Dan found the back of the visitors' net, but the goal was disallowed for an offside. This was the wake-up call Tenby needed and the boys hit a vein of play, seen only spasmodically recently, when they couldn't put a foot - or ball - wrong! Elliot, at his sizzling and speedy best, grabbed the now opening goal and it was fairly one-way traffic from then on. A goalmouth scramble saw Hugo knock home the second, good follow up play from Cheyne saw him rewarded with the third and a moment of some magic as Hugo gathered the ball off his chest and volleyed the unstoppable fourth into the back of the net (oh for a TV action replay!) meant an extremely comfortable 4-0 up at the break. The second half saw Tenby continue to control the game with some great play. Hugo grabbed his third, before the very welcome return of David and Corey to the action brought about total domination on all parts of the field. Elliot scored two more, Jack rose to meet a well- flighted corner which he headed past the visitors' goalie, Hugo scored another and Dan rounded the score up to double figures before the final whistle. An extremely convincing victory, with all players working hard, showing great individual skills and determined team effort. It was a pleasure to watch this game and whilst Saundersfoot battled bravely, they couldn't come up with anything to match or contain all 13 members of the Tenby squad playing at the top of their game. Well done to all of you! Thanks to coach Simon (hope this one made you happy!), referee Neil, Ted on the line, our sponsors and supporters, but the biggest thanks must go to the players who contributed to this game. Squad: Scott Cowan, George McBeth, Tom Grover, Jack Murphy, Sam Butler, Cheyne Lloyd, Toby Rossiter, Hugo Wellum, Rhys Nicholas, Elliot Goldsmith, Daniel Fairlie, David Webb, Corey Morris.
