Scores of hungry diners are expected at Church House in Upper Frog Street next Wednesday for Tenby's social lunch of the year.

This event might seem a bit odd, as the procceds of this scrumptious beano will help to feed people who never have a proper lunch, breakfast or dinner. But the lunch is in aid of Christian Aid - and all proceeds will go to the starving of Africa and other parts of the developing world.

Rev. Michael John, vicar at St. Mary's Church, said: "It's nice to know that though everyone will have a super meal at Church House, they will be helping to ease the hunger pangs of those in less privileged communities.

"The money will go to needy people of all religions. While stringent precautions are being cast to make sure the money does not fall into the hands of anyone else."

Everyone is welcome to this very friendly lunch. Tickets are £6 each, although there will be a Christian Aid collecting box for any further donations. Further details are available from Joy Griffiths on 842741.

Anyone wishing to give to Christian Aid, but unable to attend the lunch, is invited to make a donation by the door.
