At the first meeting in April, the president was pleased to welcome a visitor, Mr. John Eggington, a retired Tenby hotelier, who was casting an eye over the club with a view to becoming a member. Numbers were poor due to illness and difficulty in parking in the vicinity of the Bowling Club. Anniversary boy for the day was Darrel John. One of the special events the club is arranging is the annual lunchtime visit to Pembrokeshire College. This has been booked for Wednesday, June 8. More information will be given at a later date. A trip is also planned to Bristol with a visit to the SS Great Britain. So make a note in your diaries - Wednesday, August 31. The 10-minute speaker for the day was club president, Ray Poole. He didn't tell about his recent visit to Spain, but regaled members with stories culled from his 13 visits to the USA. It seems he couldn't keep the traffic police off his back while there. Fortunately, he was never arrested and remained their 'pristine white' president. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 20, when the speaker will be Ron Hurlow. It's always an interesting talk from Ron, so if you are a retired professional or business man, why not join members for the morning. Ring Lew Day on 844633 for more details.
