Clients from the Avenue Social Activity Centre in Tenby have recently displayed some of their art work in the foyer of the town's Museum and Art Gallery.

Support worker Anne Draper from the Centre and Museum and Art Gallery collections manager, Mark Lewis, liaised and agreed that the foyer would be an ideal space to showcase the talents of the clients at the centre.

The display consists of work that has been produced over the last 12 months and it is planned that new material will be displayed on a regular basis.

Mark explained: "This is an ideal opportunity for the community museum to become involved in a community project. The Avenue Centre often visits the museum and display space shows off their artistic talents to all of our visitors.

"We have given the Centre the responsibility of displaying the material and they have come up with some excellent works. We hope that this project will be ongoing and very much look forward to seeing any new work," he added.

The Avenue Social Activity Centre is a day centre for adults with learning disabilities.

It provides its clients with opportunities to learn and develop skills, receive training and engage in community activities in a way that seeks to maximise their independence, promote and maintain good health and wellbeing.
