On February 28 Tenby Camera Club welcomed a popular judge, Gareth Martin. Gareth is a well qualified photographer and judge, a member of several South Wales Camera Clubs.
He has a liking and experience in Monochrome work so we were very fortunate to have Gareth as our ‘Mono Competition’ judge.
Gareth throughout the evening kept us entertained with his gentle humour. His critique was delivered in a practical and considerate manner.
There were 27 prints to be assessed. Topics very varied from portraits and landscapes to wildlife and flowers.
In first place with full marks of 20 was ‘Feeling the Pain’ by Gill Mackay, an ironman capture.
Gill also had second place with ‘The Concourse’ scoring 19 points. Roy Peters had third place with ‘The Engine Driver’ scoring 19 points.
There were 35 digital entries, what a lot for Gareth to critique.
In first place was Al Rees with ‘This is all you’re getting from us’ - a lovely portrait of two young girls, scoring 20 points.
There were three more 20s given. In second place ‘Dropping the food’ by Charlie Kidd, third with ‘Loving life’ by Al Rees and 4th place Jan Sullivan’s ‘The Forgotten Toy’ .
