AFTER reading an appeal in the Observer from United Press Ltd., who were looking for contributions for their publications, Marie Mackay from Saundersfoot, was delighted this week to hear that her poem, 'Tenby By The Sea' has been selected to appear in the book, 'Natural Beauty'. Marie is celebrating her birthday today (Friday) and the book, which can be ordered from all good bookshops worldwide, will be out soon.

Tenby by the sea

Having travelled the world over,

Nowhere else is the same,

A place of tranquillity,

A place where I like to be.

Summer breeze, the sand, the sea,

Brings back memories to me,

Watching the world go by,

I close my eyes then stare.

Like a magnet it draws you closer,

So spectacular,

Why is this place so magical?

Only you can feel.

Cobbled streets waving and twisting,

Steps in glen nooks and crevices,

Like heaven on earth, a place near by birth,

Is Tenby by the sea.
