The eighth annual Tenby Blues Festival has been recorded as the most successful to date.

Over 1,000 people gathered in Tenby over the weekend to celebrate some of the best rhythm and blues talent from musicians from all across the UK.

The music festival featured two night sessions in the De Valence and on the FBM Stage at Tenby Rugby Club, with artists such as Bernard Allison on Saturday and, on Friday, Marcus Malone (both over from USA), Big Mamma's Door and Pat Grover and The Hawks. Following these, late-night sessions were held in Tenby's Fourcroft Hotel.

Tenby Blues Festival was originally added to the winter calendar to entice visitors into the county at a quiet time of year and is a great asset to the Pembrokeshire tourism industry.

This year, a new set of jam sessions was introduced. Crowds of fans travelled to the seaside town during the day on Saturday and Sunday for the Blues Trail, where gigs were performed in 14 of some of the most popular hospitality venues in Tenby.

The festival came to a close on Sunday evening with top performances from British Blues Awards nominee Kris Dollimore, followed by Katie Bradley, another awards nominee, entertaining a large crowd in the Rugby Club.

Chris Osborne, one of the organisers of the Tenby Blues Festival, is delighted with the feedback from this year's event.

"This year's Blues Festival has been the best yet. As a director of Pembrokeshire Tourism creating an event that encourages visitors into Pembrokeshire during the quieter months is a bonus. Tenby is a beautiful place which should be showcased throughout the year, not just during the summer."
