THE television advert for Tesco which was partly filmed in Tenby is likely to be on screens from this weekend.
The advert - which recreates the resort's famous Boxing Day swims - was filmed earlier this month by the production company, Smuggler Films.
Pembrokeshire County Council cabinet member for leisure and tourism, Rob Lewis, said the company had been delighted with the help and support they had received during the filming.
"They estimate they have spent over £15,000 locally during the shoot," said Clr. Lewis.
"There were around 35 crew members who stayed overnight in Tenby hotels and then ate and drank in the area, as well as the payments made to the 87 locals who dressed up and were filmed re-enacting the Boxing Day swim.
"In addition there was a £2,000-plus spend on local catering and the hiring of equipment from Blue Sky Marquees based in Penally and Cosheston whom the film-makers were very impressed with.
"It all adds up to a substantial contribution to the Pembrokeshire economy considering it was just one day's filming. And of course there are also the benefits of showcasing the beauty of the area to a nationwide audience of potential visitors."
Clr. Lewis added: "It's certainly been a memorable year for Tenby following on from the BBC Wales fly-on-the-wall documentary 24/7 together with other appearances of the town on our television screens."
The Tesco advert will be shown at varying times in different areas of the country.
