Last week should have seen Tenby Arts Festival and what would have been a brilliant line up of music, drama and talks, writes June Howell.
Instead, we got Covid-19, mandatory face masks, and a large influx of visitors swapping ‘staycations’ for holidays abroad, with a general verdict that they all love Tenby.
With this in mind, well in advance of next year’s festival, the committee is launching a photographic competition with the theme ‘Tenby Inspirations’.
There will be an adult and Under 16s category, with expert judging provided by qualified members of Tenby and District Camera Club.
Photos - max. size A3 and mounted, (stiff card is acceptable) may be handed in at any of the shops listed below.
Please put your name and contact details on the back, and age, if under 16.
All photos will be held for display in shops around town in the month prior to next year’s festival, from where they can be collected at the end of festival week. (Festival Booking Office in Church House will display a list of where to find photos.)
Prizes donated by the festival committee will be:?1st - £50 voucher for two meals in a local restaurant; while 2nd and 3rd prize-winners will receive vouchers of £30 and £20 to be spent in two local shops.
There will also be awards for under 16s. Entries can be handed in at the shops listed below up to May 31.
County Clothes, Ebb and Flow, Dales Music Shop, Rembrandt’s Jewellers, TPs and Loafley.
Details of all the above are also available on Facebook.
In these strange times when we have been forced to spend more time appreciating the beauty of our local surroundings, lets hope for a bumper amount of entries inspired by Tenby. Good luck everybody!
