Tenby and District Soroptimists held their first meeting of 2007 at the home of member Judy Brew.

Judy gave a talk on her safari in Kenya and Tanzania, with particular reference to the privilege she felt being so close to the animals in their natural surroundings. She had been very fortunate to see the migration of some of the wildebeest crossing the Mara River, which is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth and is in great danger due to the ever-increasing drought conditions in East Africa due to global warming. The evening ended with a buffet provided by members. On Saturday, members of the club attended the official opening of the new-look New Hedges Village Hall, where business meetings are held.

February 20 is the date of the Soroptimists' annual quiz night, this year at New Hedges Village Hall. Entry fee is £10 per table with teams of four. The next business meeting will be on Tuesday, February 6, at New Hedges.
