At a recently held meeting of Tenby and District Probus Club, new officers were installed.
Retiring president Greg Grist handed over the chain of office to Ray Poole who then gave the vice-president's medallion to Bryan Harris, the incoming vice-president.
The first meeting in February was well-attended. The secretary reported that the Paul Sartori organisation would be giving us a talk at the July Ladies' Day. This leaves May free for a one-day trip. Venue and costs to be announced at our next meeting. There is a further Ladies' Day this year which is in October.
Our speaker for the morning was Lew Day who described the war-time adventures of two of his cousins. One served in the RAF as a tail gunner and the other, who was a paratrooper, was dropped at Normandy the evening before the evasion and then at Arnhem where he was taken prisoner after the surrender. Tales of derring-do where the truth is stranger than fiction.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 20, when our speaker will be Doug Perry.
For any further information, ring Lew Day on (01834) 844633.
