The first meeting in February was started with a request from the new president, Peter Durdin, that all stand in memory of a past early member, Rev. Glyn Evans, who had recently passed away. He was a very popular man and much missed.
The president said that he didn't intend to start future meetings with comic quotes, so it was straight into business. Darrel John was inaugurated as the new vice-president and also talked to members about computers and a new system, to them, of Blog and Skype. Sounds like an illness for dogs!
Anyway, he offered to talk about it at a future meeting, so he has been pencilled in for a meeting in April.
Arthur told of the proposed trip to the Peak District in June. There had been a lot of interest, so a coach has been booked. If you are interested in going, then give him a ring on 843694 for an update on the plans.
Speaker for the morning, after Don's jokes, was Lew Day. He told of his daughter, who was clairvoyant and a healer living in Bath, plus a few of her activities and experiences over many years. Several accounts of things that she had seen and done were given, plus a recommendation that members read some of the books by Dr. Brian Weiss. This stimulated quite a lively discussion as everyone had a story to tell.
The next meeting is on February 18, when the speaker will be Tom Peake.
If you are interested in joining a club for a chat and coffee and are a retired business or professional man, then ring Lew Day on 844633 for more information.
