TENBY AND DISTRICT PROBUS CLUB
After reminding members of the passing of Mrs. Sparkes, the wife of our late deceased member Mr. Hugh Sparkes, the president welcomed all to the meeting and wished them all the best for the new year.
There were no visitors; six apologies for absence and no notification of members absent through illness.
Only anniversary (birthday) before the next meeting was that of John Cochlin on the 11th. John was present and received the acclaim of the members.
In special events, the president reported that he had made various enquiries concerning the fifth Wednesday meeting and gave details of a possibility of the Begelly Arms being the venue.
Price and transport were discussed and it was decided to leave it to members present to mull it over and after a final discussion a decision would be taken at the next meeting.
There was once again no '10 minute speaker' arranged, but we were entertained by some witty poems and newspaper clippings that members had brought with them.
The most hilarious was a poem recited by Reg Roberts. Thank you, Reg, see if you can find some more for our enlightenment.
In any other business, it was mentioned that Silcox Motor Coaches were holding a promotional evening at the Giltar Hotel on January 16 at 8 pm and members were invited.
After the raffle and the date of the next meeting being announced as January 17, the president closed the meeting with thanks to all those who attended.
