The summer party, held once again at the popular Tudor Lodge, Jameston, was a great success on all fronts. Good food, good company and well organised.

The eight tables of bridge players all enjoyed the 'individual' bridge smoothly run by club director Kevin Thomas, playing for the Sheridan and Bernard Bradley Salver.

The super efficient hon secretary Irene Delahunty played shepherdess, ensuring everyone got fed and watered and chairman Jill O'Sullivan produced all the excellent prizes for the winners and one loser!

To achieve a plus score takes some effort and skill, laced with plenty of luck, but that may not have been the case with this year's winner  Jill O'Sullivan, who scored well in excess of 3,000 points, closely followed by Rosemary Hathaway and Peter Oeppen.

Strongest player in the room proved to be the very unlucky Mike Taylor with a seriously low score, but he was presented with the dearest prize, a large bottle of champagne, which eased the pain!

Duplicate bridge is played twice weekly at the Kilgetty Community Centre, Wednesday at 7 pm and Friday at 6.30 pm. New members and visitors are always welcome. Ring Rosie for partners on 813172.
