Wednesday, May 20: A Mitchell movement in play. Winners, North/South, were Irene Delahunty and Cindy Middleton with 57.74 per cent; 2. Julie and Peter Milewski 57.44; 3. Sue Enfield and Judy Lewis 49.40. East/West, 1. Rosemary Hathaway and Irene Warlow 61.61; 2. Rosie Taylor and Bill Glynn 53.87; 3. Liz Crockford and Kevin Thomas 51.79.
Jill and John O'Sullivan were rewarded for their good showing in the last simultaneous with a fine pair of 'suited' pens and they in turn quite generously offered them as a prize to the pair, that evening, scoring nearest to 50 per cent. Would you believe that the couple to score exactly 50 per cent were Jill and John, to gales of laughter.
Friday, May 22: 1. Doug Silcox and Kevin Thomas 59.63; 2. Gladys Irvine and Bert Barnikel 57.78; 3. Mary Jones and Jo Davies 57.04; 4. Judy Lewis and Sue Enfield 55.19.
Do not forget that there's a special worldwide simultaneous next Friday, June 5; it should be a fun night, as Fridays usually are.
