A packed club meeting on Thursday, April 26, welcomed the acclaimed landscape photographer David Wilson to this the last of the 2011-2012 club winter season.
David, who produces limited edition fine art prints of Pembrokeshire, gave club members a preview of the black and white images that are in his new book, 'Wales in Black and White', due out in July.
David, who was once a member of the club, explained that he toured around Wales for over 12 months, working through the seasons to capture the raw essence of the countryside of Wales, from the stunning coastal regions to the gentle rolling hills and valleys.
Much of David's work can be seen in Pembrokeshire's leading galleries.
Footnote: Three members of the club recently flew to Norway and travelled to the remote community of Flatanger (which means shallow water) to the village of Lauvsnes in the Nord Trondalag county. They stayed in a typical Norwegian house with the exclusive use of a purpose-built bird hide to enable them to photograph the widlife of the Norwegian forest, such as a red squirrel, bullfinch and the lesser crested tit. Exploring the fiords around Flatanger in the freezing cold and the occasional blizzard, they watched in awe the magnificent white tailed sea eagles catch their fish.
