The meeting of the Camera Club at St. Florence Village Hall was a Studio Night Workshop last week, with Martyn Pinches.
Martyn, who had brought a model with him, had already led a workshop around Tenby during the afternoon, when members had met to benefit from his studio techniques.
A packed house of members, everyone was delighted to learn about lighting techniques, and how different lighting can affect the resulting image.
Everyone was able to have a go, and Martyn's model, Amy, was a very willing subject.
Members enjoyed trying out their skills, and using the lighting available to good effect.
Much discussion took place, and many comparisons of the images achieved.
Everyone was very grateful to Martyn for his skills and clear explanations of the use of the correct lighting to obtain different effects.
Members were delighted to hear the news that Jill Baxter had won the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain's Ribbon, which is only presented to images of exceptional quality.
The presentation took place at the opening of the PAGB's exhibition, now on at Barry Town Hall. The attached photo shows Jill receiving her award from the Mayor of Barry and the president of the PAGB, Jennifer Cox.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, October 29, which will be a Print Critique Night,
Members are invited to bring a couple of images, to have them discussed in small groups. For further information, please see visit the website, http://www.tenby-camera-club.co.uk">www.tenby-camera-club.co.uk.
