Last week's meeting of the camera club was the annual general meeting.

The meeting began with apologies, and then moved on to election of officers. The following were elected: chairman - Doug Williams; vice-chairman - Ray Hine; secretary - Jill Baxter; treasurer - Gill Mackay; external competition secretary - Roy Peters; internal competition secretary - Roy Packer; programme secretary - Chris Warren, with support from Roy Packer and Roger Toon; press officer - Roz Oak.

The other committee members elected were: Dave Cooper, John Crane, Mick Day, Robert Lineker and Linda Perry.

Thanks were due to retiring internal competition secretary, Dave Marriott.

Reports for the meeting had already been emailed to members, and the treasurer expanded on her report.

The club is in a healthy position, but in order to keep it that way, it was felt that the nightly entrance fee be increased.

After lengthy discussion, it was finally agreed that the entrance fee be increased. Everyone who attends the meetings will now pay £2 on club nights, and £2.50 on judging nights, or speakers' nights.

This way, the club can ensure that they can invite a selection of top judges and speakers.

There was no proposal to increase the membership fee as yet.

After a break for refreshments, the meeting then discussed various aspects of competition entries, for the coming year. Harry Gardiner thanked the committee for its hard work throughout the year, and the meeting concluded.

The next meeting on April 30 will be 'Panels for Pleasure' with Gareth Martin AWPF.

The summer programme begins on May 14 with a photo selection night.
