At the St. Florence Village Hall last week, members were delighted to hear of the club's success in winning the prestigious Brian Jenkins Trophy, at Treotre, Llanelli, earlier in the week. This competition was held between six camera clubs, and Tenby submitted six prints, and came first, a clear 12 points in front of all the other clubs. Two of these prints scored the maximum of 20 points, one by Paul Richards and the other by Philippe Kirchherr, and all the other prints scored highly also. The club is delighted to be able to submit such a high standard of work from its members. The club evening took the form of selecting a series of digital images to go forward to another external competition, the Ace of Clubs, to be held in February. Members brought their images on CD, and these were then transferred onto the club's equipment, and everyone present then voted on the selection. Dave Cooper, who is a wizard with the computer, managed to collate all the images very smoothly, and presented a fascinating programme. Roy Peters, the club's external competition secretary, was delighted with the quality of images presented, and the results of which images are to go forward to the competition will be announced at the next meeting. After a break for refreshments, Dave Cooper then gave the club a demonstration using 'Pro Show Gold', a computer programme enabling the images to be shown in the form of an audio visual presentation. Everyone agreed that it had been a very successful and informative evening. The next meeting will be a change of programme, as Dr. Toby Driver will now be coming on April 24. The meeting on February 7 will be a workshop on still life tabletop photography and everyone is asked to bring their photographic equipment, to take part. Everyone is welcome to the meetings, and for further information, please see the website http://www.tenby-camera-club.co.uk">www.tenby-camera-club.co.uk
