This week's meeting was a practical demonstration on table-top photography, arranged by Jill Baxter, with the help of Chris Warren. Jill set up various displays around the St. Florence Village Hall, and invited members to change them around, and use the various items she had provided, in whatever way they wished. Members had brought their cameras and tripods and were delighted to use the studio lighting to enhance their shots. There was a great deal of chatting and laughter as members tried to use their skills to achieve the best shots. Displays were altered and dismantled and built up again and everyone was amazed at the way simple household items could be used to make very imaginative photography. After a welcome break for refreshments, more variations were tried. Everyone was very grateful to Jill for all her help and preparation to make it a very enjoyable evening. Chairman Doug Williams announced that the committee had decided to offer junior membership of the club at half the normal club membership fee. So instead of the usual £15 for a year's membership, younger members up to the age of 18 will only pay £7.50. The club would be delighted to welcome more junior members to join them, as well as senior ones. The meeting next Thursday will be 'An Evening with Two Fellows' by Tony Rackham FRPS and Betty Rackham FRPS, at 7.30 pm. Members are asked to bring prints for selection for a four-way competition battle between various camera clubs to be held in the new year.
