At St. Florence Village Hall this week, the members of Tenby and District Camera Club waited in anticipation to hear what the judge for the evening, Leigh Woolford AWPF, had to say about their entries for the First Open Competition of the season. He had travelled from Pontypridd, where he attends his own camera club, and he was delighted with the high standard of the entries in general and some in particular. He gave a very detailed resumé of his comments on each section, firstly the prints, and secondly the digital images. Members all felt that they learnt a lot of positive points from his comments. In the print section, marking out of 20, he awarded 20 points to Jill Baxter's print, entitled 'Watching', giving it first place. Chris Warren came second with 'Log and Blues', third was Roger Cooke and fourth Kirsten Howard. In the digital image section, Leigh awarded the 20 points to Kirsten Howard's image, 'Apostles'. Kirsten also came second with 'Haybales', Harry Gardiner came third and Jill Baxter came fourth. The next meeting on October 25 will be a talk on 'The Basics of Digital' by Steve Littlewood AWPF, who will give a personal view from camera to print. Everyone is welcome.
