Results, Wednesday, November 8: This evening was the start of the internal quest for the Mixed Pairs Trophy, run in tandem with the normal night's play. It is played over three sessions, with the best two of the three counting. A nine-table Mitchell was in play, with several very tricky hands to bid and make. North/South scores: 1. Peter Milewski and Colin Nash 58.80 per cent; 2. Liz Crockford and Kevin Thomas 54.63; 3. Sheridan Bradley and Margaret Day 53.94. East/West: 1. Lee Collier and Wendy Thornton 67.13; 2. Jill and John O'Sullivan 59.49; 3. Marnie Owens and Ray Bowen 54.40. Friday, November 10: With several members playing away in the Porthcawl Congress, (they were playing several times over three days, it being quite a marathon), the club was a little short, but all enjoyed themselves. Results: 1. Kay Allen and Eileen Dowling; equal 2. Gladys Irvine and Bert Barnikel with Pam Evans and Mike Taylor; 4. Sue Batten and Elfrida Jones.
