Bowen Eastlake and Kevin Thomas 54.17; 3. Irene Delahunty and Sheridan Bradley 53.13. Bowen Eastlake returns to the USA after holidaying here in Tenby, where he originated from. In Miami, life is one long round of swimming and bridge! Bowen played regularly in the club during his month long visit, and although he is used to a different American system of bidding, he was always in the winning points, a breath of fresh air. He is seriously considering returning to his roots in Tenby. Bridge barbeque: Last year's event was so successful, management agreed to repeat it at the Holyland Hotel, Pembroke. This year's party was well attended and a great day was had by all. Following the meal, there was the Individual Bridge which, was humorous to say the least with the usual crop of very high and low scores. Winner of the Bradley Summer Barbeque Trophy, donated by Sheridan Bradley, was herself, Sheridan, with a fantastic plus top score. Second was John O'Sullivan and third was Carmel Wiseman. Winner of the bottle of champagne 'booby prize' was Betty Rogers.
